So no possession (body), no power copying (that injures the absorbed or otherwise/death touch), and no weapon copying?

How is that a problem?

Actually, I believe the opinion I posted was on tech copying.

What's your view on gaining skills/intelligence (not powers) Smurph?

Anyways the problem is that the ability to absorb from the other two categories have been banned you literally can not absorb anything from them yet in this case an exception is being made for the mind category.

I feel that is an obvious double standard being placed on the categories themselves.

So could you explain how the properties are the same, powers versus intelligence, or is it simply because one can be gained while the other can't that you take issue with?

Ok that's enough people. Everyone has stated their opinion and made their case about skill absorption NUMEROUS times at this point, and all we're waiting for is the judges to vote. So everyone just let it drop, because nothing new and/or productive is being brought up anymore. This issue has consumed several pages now, and all anyone who's riding the fence post on the issue has to do is look back a couple of pages to see you guy's cases on the matter. The ONLY people I want to here talking about it anymore is the judges that haven't voted yet, and those judges are welcome to state their reasoning when they cast their vote. As for my stance on it...

Ill's bee doing a decent job of tallying judge votes, and I've already stated my opinion a few times ("for" any kind of absorption, barring that the "over Extremis" cap for single characters isn't breached...otherwise I just see it as a clever strategy).

I'll leave the thread now until it's resolved to cut down on spam.

I need somethin cleared in regards to the body categories..

The "Body" character supplies any PHYSICAL powers and characteristics(strength, durability, agility, adamantium skeleton, etc.). ANY powers that aren’t purely physical, will be considered to be turned off for match purposes(including flight, energy blast, etc).

So the rest of the char. abilities are turned off cept. physical attribute..

But char. w/ auto- triggered ability ie. shaws/SG kinetic absorbsion is okay, which would mean that this turned off ability is not entirely gone and if we find picks that activate's this turned off ability, its legal..

I PM'ed DG about this and he gave it an okay specificly about this 2 chars:

i think you're viewing things incorrectly. you're looking at mind/powers/body and saying that because absorption of experience falls in mind, that mind is the ONLY category where absorption is allowed. you're relating that to a "double-standard".

that's not accurate. it just so happens that if you DID absorb anything from the body or power and tried to use it, it is very likely the things you absorbed would fall under 'power copying'.

that's not a double standard, that is simply a reflection of rules.

if someone could somehow gain the experience of using a certain power from the power`category WITHOUT gaining that 'power', that would be fine based on what we have been saying, i think.
