So there is a rule that allows you to take the knowledge, battle experience and skills from your opponent and have them for the next match?

Nah, that's what we're voting on now. The rule is that knowledge and experience carries over, the issue is that some characters have the ability to gain knowledge and skills from there opponents where as others do not have the same ability or means to do so.

Basically a tactical advantage.

This isn't the first time it's happened. Hell, General Kinky got more powerful as he progressed because he was absorbing more sun radiation.

...I really just wanted to throw a Gen. Kinky reference in there.

I honestly just see it as a cool tactic. And I wouldn't even be opposed to newjak doing his thing either, except that it breaks the "1 character Extremis" cap....but if newjak wants to absorb experiences or something, I'm fine with it.

I agree. We could just limit Black Knight to experience/skills absorption only and drop the power absorption part. 👆

It's not like other characters didn't have abilities limited as well (like Emma's possession abilities, Warlock's techmode virus matter consumption, etc.).

Newjak, you have the same ability.

You will, of course, have to support all your claims with on panel evidence.

and i guess off-site prep IS legal? no one could show me where it says it is NOT, nor has goob denounced it in his recent visits here. as i said, i've run possible plans by goob as well in pm's and he did not have any issue about my having left the battlefield during prep . . .

I guess we need a ruling on that as well.

The stipulation, of course, being that you could only go to your personal base of operations. You couldn't, for instance, be Green Arrow and go to the Batcave. This stipulation would also carry to members of teams like the JLA or Avengers. You would need your own personal base of operations, Batman would go to the Batcave, not the Watchtower, and Black Panther would go to Wakanda, not the Avengers Mansion. Of course, the exception to this rule are teams like the X-Men, The Fantastic 4, and other teams that aren't simply alliances of independent heroes, but have always shared a common base of operations.

I also think the mind character should determine the prep location available.

I still want to hear what Goob has to say. I know what he told me through PM's (that I couldnt fully teleport) so I want to know what he is gonna say now.

The point is that he is absorbing it from them. When apparently all other absorbing abilities are banned.

By the way the only requirement in the drafting was that their base had to be below Extremis Ironman which BK fits. Theoritcally there is no rule no actual rule saying that single amping equals Ironman. Seeing as Ironman can amp himself up past the Extremis Mark without his other drafted character help.

In fact the only rule is that the person can not amp themselves past that point without outside help. Seeing as BK requires the souls of other people he isn't self amping he is actually amping via outside power sources. Just thought I'd throw that out there 😛

The only big problem I have had is that Leo is allowed to have a permanent absorbing ability when all others have been banned apparently. That and he isn't actually using his mind to absorb these things he is using a power.

The last bit is just kind of showing that there really isn't a rule preventing BK from getting souls from an amping standpoint just a power absorbing standpoint. 😛

you're getting good at clouding the issue, nj. WHAT is being used to assimilate the data doesn't matter -- power, body, mind -- it is utterly irrelevant and no one has made any distinction in regards to what is actually DOING the absorbing. not sure why you brought it up. i initially said it was my BODY because you continued to say it was my 'mind' that was being given 'special consideration'. that was patently untrue. actually, it is a combination of BOTH (body AND mind), and that is only feasible because of indy's POWERS. if they naturally worked together to amp to uber levels, there wouldn't be any problem. my guy DOES amp to high levels -- he just does it one match at a time. it requires all THREE of my characters to absorb SKILLS (not POWERS). BK can do EXACTLY the same thing in this tournament WITHOUT any parts of his amalgam. THAT is why it is single character amping which is also illegal. of course, you're also absorbing POWERS (or believe you are able to do so based on your . . . 'evidence'😉 which is also illegal.

i've refrained from comment for the most part, because i'm perfectly content to let the judges decide, and perfectly willing to abide by whatever they say. you however, keep harping on it. 😬

I don't know the full story but is leo just absorbing knowledge and skills? Technically it's feasible for a telepath to do the same.(Emma downloaded Astrid Blooms entire life in a matter of seconds, the Cuckoos just dumped most of Beasts medical knowledge into Elixir permanently. Even Jean knows how to fly a space shuttle permanently because of this.). So if he's just absorbing knowledge and skills then I'd say it should be allowed. It was a clever draft on his part. 😬
