honestly I need at least day of prior knowledge of my opponent and the battlefield location to get a write up in.

Really? how long does it take to write up this:

"MI flies over (insert battlefield here) shield up, ram into (insert opponent here) chop, chop, punch, punch ... MI FTW!!!!!111!"

🙄

That is true except remove the punches and put more chops in 😉

Personally I think since this is about to be the quarterfinals and the stakes are higher that each combatant should have equal time to prepare. I think we should start the next round on 6/25 (the Monday after next) and have all 4 battles begin simultaneously. We should also have the brackets and battle locations posted no later than 6/20 (next Wednesday).

Sounds good to me although I don't know how well running four matches at the same time would go unless some judges wouldn't mind doing double duty.

I personally don't mind double duty (or moreso). It's just important to me to keep this thing up and running as close to top efficiency as possible.

Also Martian Mind finally posted (good). However, I think he has some misunderstandings about the abilities of his amalgam...

As do I 😛

yep. 🙂

Cloak rule?

I will say this for MM: he got me turned on to that radioblogclub that he's always linking to. I have my own circa-5-CD-long playlist now that I run every time I'm on the cpu. Good times.

🙂

Also, I'm thrilled that Stacks and LP are debating whether or not Loki's telepathy was pre-pubescent. This is why I love this forum.

I know what you mean 😄

Here's a question that I expect Pig to flip in his next post. Pig's pointed out that Zero has thousands of years worth of combat DL'd into his head, I've pointed out that Thunderstrike ain't Zero and that's more of a mind ability.

Does Zero's thousands of years worth of combat DL'd into his head count as a power or a mind trait?

I assume that it's a mind trait as it falls under battle savy, skills, etc.

I think it counts as a mind trait myself.

Need to ask the opinions of other judges though.

Seems like a mind aspect to me as well ... if you take a cyborg/robot character and use a human as the mind then the computer "brain" isn't being used at all and has no bearing on the overall amalgam.

Experience is an aspect of the mind not the body.

Yeah, I agree with Darkcrawler, I consider it a mind trait too. Not to mention the fact that Zero is a machine. His body is Dragonman and his mind/experience/tactical style is Masterson. He only has Zero as the powers character, not Zero's body, mind, or artificial properties (which is actually another issue I have with his argument, but I'll leave it at that because I'm not sure whether I'll wind up judging that match or not).

He may not have fully understood the amalgamation rules.

I disagree. if you have a robotic body, then by logic, you should have access to computer reaction speed and thought processes. Since the physical body is cybernetic, the mind would be considered cybernetic, even though it would have only relevant experience to it's original body. So LP's idea of saying he would have Zero's combat data and info, is probably not gonna fly. But his idea of saying that his mind pick would have the computer analyzing speed that comes with Zero's powers, that's an arguement he could make.

That would be true if it weren't stated by Goob in the rules that robotic bodies were turned off and only could be used for strength/durability unless you had ability to unlock the body's traits.

What we have here is Masterson's consciousness with Zero's powers inside Dragonman's brain and body...

Bad juju.
