She's not permanently phased, it's just her default state. She can consciously become material with little effort. However for example if she were to lose concentration as Colossus made her do vin or when she's knocked out she becomes immaterial. I don't think they ever explained how exactly she sleeps. 😕

How does she have sex? As she gets horny she would find it more and more difficult to comcentrate on being material. I bet she can never orgasm.

Basic survival ... her brain will keep her from fusing with anything the same way it keeps your heart beating when you lose consciousness.

Probably.

Except as just the body pick she looses her ability to go solid.

Therefore she stays in a Perma-Phased state.

Ah, I see. I haven't been following this tournament too closely.

I thought you had read Astonishing... 313 stay Xy... 🤘

The matches are over and I would just like to ask, how is it possible for Iron Man to beat someone with unblockable tech negation?

I don't think you have much to worry about Stacks.

Seems reasonable actually. Isn't that what keeps people who expand from getting to big to survive? (or maybe thats just in Ultimate)

This weeks battles are going to be very interesting to judge to say the least...

Do we judges have our match assignments? I think we should try to have the winners, advancing losers, and round 2 seeds up by Thursday at the latest for a Monday start.

and, is it 100% clear that kitty phases by decreasing her density? i'd just assumed it was simply a 'power', and not an ability to decrease her mass like vision. i mean kitty doesn't have intermediary states of intangibility, does she? 😕

both that battles had me scratching my head in terms of who could do what. 😬

Let me clarify something. This version of Shadowcat cannot control her abilities and is stuck in perma-phase. And no, she cannot go into intermediary stages. She has never been able to phase attack the way Vision can. If she solidifies in a object, it will cause injury or death to her. Her ability is a power and not a density controlling ability.

and I pointed out, her perma-phase was causing her to undergo molecular deterioration. IE: the perma-phase was going to kill her, if Reed Richard and Dr. Doom hadn't saved her life.

Too bad the posting time ended. These are great arguements. 😄 Hey Digi, can you delete Martian's last post? It was after the time limit expired.

RULES UPDATE!!!!!
6(Add on). No "Special Versions" of characters. So no Keeper's, no Earth X Absorbing Man's, no All Star Supes(All of which are WAY to high for this tourney, but you get the point). Also, picks must have at least 10 appearances to be eligible.

Does picking a character from a particular story arc count for this as well?

Why?

Booster Gold has control over her powers. Logically, he wouldn't have much expierience with going solid, but he could still DO it.

EDIT: Unless that's banned by the factor that Body Powers have to be passive. Whatevs.

I wouldn't think so, as it's not an actual different entity.

Hold it. Shadowcat's phase is not based on density control. Thus, Thunder's powers should not let him go solid. 😱

well, that's sota what i was thinking, but i wasn't 100% sure . . . 😬

It's based on density control. Her molecules go separate, I'm pretty sure that increasing density would basically bring them together. 😬

Actually, I remember some enemy using this trick to make her tangible...don't know for sure though.

I'm thinking the same thing. Shadowcat pretty much just goes out of synch with everything moreso than having actual density control. Thunders powers don't work in the same manner as Martian Manhunter or Vision. She has the abilility to pack additional mass within her frame without increasing/changing size, basically packing molecules really tight and making the structure stronger, (like high density polyurethane versus low density polyurethane [pp demigawd, RIP].

If Thunder's powers are applied to Shadowcat's proposed "permanately phased body", all Thunder would do is pack more phased molecules into the same area.

She can't phase attack the way Vision can. That's been proved. Thus, it's not density control. And Martian shouldn't be able to de-phase anyway, Shadowcat's body is stuck in perma-phase.

Tht actually makes sense for I haven't seen her attack quite the same way Vision does over the years considering Vision's dead 😛 Na Na I think Trick's right, I don't think it is density control

Vision is an android, he can do it without harm for himself.

And these scans would clearly insinuate that she can do something similar.

Maybe her powers aren't excatly like Visions, but I still think it is some sort of density.

Illadelphs post seems to show that Thunder doesn't simply bring molecules together, but adds mass, so it wouldn't cancel Shadowcat's effect.

...wait, you are right, it's not density control. I just remembered this scan.

If Kitty solidifies within a solid object, then she will hurt herself. 2nd, Shadowcat can't do that in her drafted state, as she has no control over her phasing powers.
