I originally posted this in the Tourney Odds thread but I'm bringing it here for review/thoughts. Scoob and Etheral were discussing the number of teams in the tourney and how to discern who moves on to round 2.
I had an idea that I was planning to implement in my tournament that may help in this one. I was going to use a point system.
Win = 3 points
Loss = 1 point
Winning by Unanimous decision = +1
Losing by Unanimous decision = -1
Popular Vote (Poll which has no bearing on the outcome of the fight) +1
Using this point system a victory could be worth up to 5 points and a losing team would still have a chance to earn 2 points and advance to round 2 if they beat out the rest of the field.
Take the 6 winners and the 2 losing teams with the highest scores.

To Roldz: There's more than 1 version of Spartan. The one drafted was "Spartan 1.0". Mkae sure the scans you post are correct.To ill: Minion was a bit of a shock to me too (even though I think he's within the limits). But cyborg's are limited to either "just powers" or "just body". He's a solid pick either way, but I'm guessing it's a body pick. His other stuff is effectively shut off, barring something that I don't know about. Besides, he's solid around the board (strength, durabiliy, healing, arm-weapon, misc powers, etc.) but no one thing is beyond any of the limits.
