I would suggest that no tech/power/knowledge should be allowed to be taken from opponents in previous rounds ... letting that kind of stuff happen could mean that someone ends up winning the tourney simply because he got lucky match-ups early on that let him become more powerful.
Leo, for instance, would be considered very lucky to have a first round match against a character whose tech and knowledge could enhance his overall character .... had he fought a different character there may have been nothing for him to gain.
Basically, everyone should go into each match with the same powers/skills as they had going into the first match.

Ok this evidently needs clarifying on my part. You DO get access to the full range of powers from your "Powers" character. The only time it's dependent on your "Mind" character, is when your "Mind" would actually(and directly) determine whether or not you'd be able to accomplish the feat. For instance...If you had a matter manipulator that could create anything he could imagine, that power would carry over to the amalgam and you'd have full proficiency with that ability. However, your "Mind" character would determine just WHAT your character is capable of imagining.
Does that make sense?
Perfect sense.
And that's my reasoning as well.

had that been a rule from the outset, i'd agree with it, scoob. however, one of the factors that went into my final decision to DRAFT dhii, WAS his ability to assimilate. i may WELL have stayed with dhii anyway, but that was something i was sort of counting on to help give me a unique edge.
and you're right -- it really was pure luck that i was able to gain benefits from the assimilation. 😬

What if you had done it Karate Kid would you tell me that wouldn't have made your character crazy stronger 😬

😕
i have no idea what you're talking about here . . .
i never said i wouldn't get stronger. i said i took dhii BECAUSE i could assimilate to get a stronger character.
anyone could have chosen him as a body. i didn't pick him til rd 3 i think.
and yes -- kk WOULD help a lot. IF i met and beat him. not sure how experienced he is fighting with 6 arms though . . . 🙁

😂
goob has ALREADY banned YOUR ability. he's ok'd the tech portion of my assimilating and put a vote to the assimilation of an opponent's knowledge.
don't go away mad, nj -- just go away. 😛

I'm against post-match amping ... I didn't even think it was an option .... if it is, can I retcon my match to have BF steal Guardian's armour?
And can whoever beats NJ take his sword(s)?

No but I guess you have to be able to "Assimilate" someone's mind to be able to make yourself stronger for the next round. You know because assimilating isn't absorbing someone's abilities 😐
You guys are all going a little too far with this.
Death's Head II has the ability within himself to assimilate knowledge. He simply downloads knowledge from the source into his databanks (and it's only knowledge, no powers), he's not taking the physical harddrive (per se). That's fine and legal.
If he were to, say, take Ironman's repulsor cannon itself (the actual cannon) that would be illegal. If he downloads the specs for it and has a means to create the weapon himself it would be legal.
And yes, self BFR is an automatic loss.

Dude, Darth TOLD me that Emma's feats were all viable for Rhode. If that's not so, then I am calling bullshit on the enitre way this is set up. You can't have goober say one thing and the Judges saying anouther because they think that's what's logical... You have to follow the damn rules!
Goober said the former himself.

ALL of Emma's feats are Valid for my Amalgam. Otherwise, how do you believe that Blair can create portals? Because he didn't have that ability at first, it took practice.
