cuz then no one would pick anything but that perk..(I sure as hell wouldnt)..though it could be better if it was balanced in a way that it still took a degree of skill to use (i.e. the targets through walls appear as sortof heat wave-like textures.. and not blatant predator esque visuals).. this way you cant run and gun people through walls as it would be a very subtle visual cue
I wanted a perk similar to last stand.. but you get one chance to kill someone with a knife throw instead of a pistol shot
I personally find it bs that most of the lighter weapons (SMG and non-deagle sidearm class) take 2 headshots to kill
Originally posted by Smasandianbecause the pistols are inaccurate beyond close range.. so you cant cheat and snipe with them... but if its a last resort weapon.. you shouldn't have to fire 20 times at their head and then 'maybe' get a headshot, while someone comes up with a deagle and blasts you with 1 hit.. whats the point of using those other pistols after you unlock deagle then? I'd like the weapons to be more of a preference than "oh snap this weapon pwns that weapon"
Well, COD4 somewhat resembles real life, so that would make sense. If they didnt have 2 headshots equals kill, whats the point of having SMG's?
as for smgs...I dont think you need an armor piercing round to break a skull open.. but thats what this game seems to believe
mind you, I like the game as is.. but it was just a personal observation that irritated me a little

ok...then perhaps only through the thinner walls...or differing degrees of visibility through different surfaces...it wouldn't be that much of a hugely useful perk because you would have to give up something else...it would certainly team ******* campers a lesson or 2
But if you can see people through walls, that will destroy any sort of balance.
It would be annoying.
And camping is viable strategy in FPS. It's been around for years and if people get killed by a camper, its purely their fault.
I always find that the more aggressive people tend to kill campers alot more because they know that a corner is coming up and a split second difference usually works in the attackers advantage.
i dont think it would destroy the balance because thermal image goggles would also have their drawbacks....namely that the detail on the enviroment would be lost and so it would be harder to navigate...
it could also be countered by other potential perks...thermal insulating kit...or by areas within the enviroment
also switching in and out of thermal mode might prove to be a disadvantage itself
perhaps something like in splinter cell with the sticky cameras would also be good...when u had them instead of the grende perks...and they only lasted a set length of time...you could set them up in certain indoor areas and have an small on screen monitor (perhaps instead of the map for that short time) to let you see people going in and out of rooms
i quite enjoy the fact that people on cod4 camp, it happens in real life so why not on here? if you're stupid enough to run out in teh open and get shot then whos fault is that? the levels are designed so that you can use cover to get to the snipers if careful or use a distraction. get one person to ay down some heavy weapons fire at the camping person while someone flanks around to get close. i've played some amazing games on here, but mostly when everyones listening and talking on the mic.
we were getting battered in one game, 320-140 so i told everyone to occupy one building and defend it. keep in cover and let them come to us. thankfully, the enemy did come and we won 750-720
it was tense, exciting and close. exactly what you want!
one that that really does annoy me is people who aim at spawn points...there is one in particular on "vacant" where people sit behind the barrels to the far left of the buildings as you look them from the front entrance...and watch the spawn point behind the oil tanker...as soon as someone appears...blam
the area where they sit is also inaccesible from anywhere but right in front of the camper...a door at the back of that building would've been good to prevent that
we had an 8 people free for all going on the other day on "bloc" and decided to make it knives only...in the main courtyard between the buildings...needless to say there's always one prick that wants to spoil the fun...was still a good laugh though
I agree with that one.
Spawn camping sucks, but I've noticed that it happens alot in COD4. The respawn points are the best.
I've played deathmatch and I've killed numerous people because I'm walking, turn around and someguy spawned infront of me. I have to shoot him/her or they will shoot back. It's just one of those things. Some maps are a bit too small for the amount of people on it.
Originally posted by SmasandianI'm just glad the spawn points move if they get rushed, only problem is that they don't if the enemy keeps camping outside the spawn.
They are random, but the script, or whatever they use to for respawning sometimes puts me, or the other guy in the wrong position. Especially in deathmatch. It aint a problem. I've just noticed it.
