Call of Duty 4

I rarely speak in multiplayer games, usually I don't even bother hooking up my headset.

It feels like talking on the phone, which is something I don't enjoy, I don't like remote speaking, really.

Either way, in a random game with random strangers, it doesn't make much of a difference.

We all have obviously spent an substantial amount of money on our next-gen consoles (PS3/360) and the available accessories.

Why, in the Blue F*ck, would you spent X amount of money on either a Bluetooth or standard headset, and stay as quiet as a mouse during online game play? I was online tonight, playing some Search & Destroy missions, trying to earn some quick & easy XP, and every single one of my team mates were absolutely silent, except to add some sophomoric commentary like "You got pwnt!" or "Dude, you suck!"

Speak the HELL up, people! That's why we have ear pieces! To COMMUNICATE!!!

Needless to say, my "team" got butt-raped.

F*CK!!!

Well actually, you don't know what the circumstance may be.

I have a headset, but many times I can't speak as much as I may like, if at all b/c of my roommate who goes to bed EARLY every single night, which pisses me off, but I have to respect that.

There are many other reasons why someone may not speak on a hooked up headset, they can still benefit though from listening in on what others have to say during the game though.

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

Well, first of all most of the people have microphones which are connected to their computers through the jacks. I have a headphone, microphone + headphone combination, and I can't connect it to my PS3 because the PS3 doesn't have a jack port. Therefore, I must use my Webcam with a built in microphone to talk. However, the microphone there is very powerful, and at almost every little noise it activates. My home telephone is right next to my big TV, and while playing someone called me, and I decided not to pick up. They decided to leave a message, and started talking. My homephone station magnified the voice and let me hear what message she left.

It was my grandma, and the webcam started putting it all onto the game for everyone to hear, I had to cover the webcam with my hands, but somehow everybody still heard it. I heard lots of screams 'SHUT UUUUP" and then I just unplugged the webcam and never talked again on PS3.

I have the Jabra Bluetooth head set that came included with Warhawk, and it works very well on my PS3 as well as my Razr cell phone.

I feel your pain, Impediment. The same sh*t happens to me constantly, and it's especially annoying when you're playing a game that requires actual tactics.

The majority of COD 4, IMO, is based on tactics. At least, mutliplayer is.

True, but COD 4 multi-player won't allow you to listen in on the opposing teams conversation, unless you have the "Eavesdrop" perk.

I'm the same way.

I actually feel like kinda of geeky wearing the headset and speaking into it. My fiance always laughs at me when I go, " let's go to B, ah shit, I'm dead".

COD4 beta, I did sometimes use my headset but thats because I was in a really good game with good strategy going on. But I still feel retarded using it.

In my opinion, its more for clans and if your playing with buds over the net.

Headset for the win.

I feel naked without it whenever I am playing team games. It does not matter if I'm playing with friends or not. But I am used to playing with friends and communication plays a large part in winning games especially when the competition is good.

As for this game I am currently in the last level of the campaign on veteran. As expected the campaign on veteran has some frustrating parts, but it ain't that hard if you ask me...so long as dying over and over again does not piss you off.

As for multi I have yet to give it a try, but I suppose its going to be hella good.

Is it true that we will get some downloadable maps and weapons?

Dont know about weapons, but we will absolutely get more maps.

I usually always wear my headset, but unless im with friends, I usually dont talk. Too many of the people are just "**** ******* ***** ******". 🙄

To beat that on veteran, I cleared out that little office and just moved from either room. It took awhile lol.

it only took me 2-3 hours to be the mile high club on veteran.

I didn't know you had to shoot the guy in the head at the end I kept shooting his foot ermm

Im having a wierd problem on the pc version of this game. My sound is, like, selective. I can hear gunshots and certain other sounds, but I cannot hear character voices, or background music, and other effects that I know should be there. Anyone have any idea whats causing this? It happens on both sets of speakers I have, too
