Kevin Durant vs Greg Oden

Durant is going to be a star in the NBA though. He is long, so he will still get his rebounds. He is a really good shooter and will be able to shoot over most that guard him. He can take them to the hole too. His defense is not bad either.

You can't really tell who is going to be better at this time.

Forumcrew what are you talking about? You make it seem like SF don't matter in the NBA and that it is all about 7'0 centers. Which is completely wrong, look at Lebron James, Tmac, Melo, etc....

If Lebron was in the same draft as Oden I would take Lebron and the same for the players I just mentioned. Durant is the best player in college and should he enter the draft he should be the #1 pick. If I was a GM I would pick the best player and not just pick a guy because he is 7'0 and full of hype.

This is all you need to know, 6'9 small forward that can shoot like Kobe, drive like Tmac, finish like Kobe, block like Josh Smith, dunk like Carter, all the makings of being a superstar in the league. Just needs to work on his leadership skills but you can't expect that right away from a player who just finished his first year in college.

Durant is going to be pretty good possibly great.

I think Durant will be amazing.

Hey in my opinion Greg Oden is better bcuz he is so tall and can do so much. he can just intimidate people on the defensive side bcuz of hes shot blocking abilty

ya it really does bcuz when u think about it people like big man that can block shots and rebound. Kevin Durant cant rebound or block shots like oden can!!

hey bro just for the next time dont duble post right it all in one post!

Too small? Oden is 7 feet tall and 280 pounds of lean MUSCLE. Seriously, you have questionable knowledge about this game.

So he has no bone weight, zero percent body fat, etc? haermm

who? Oden or Durant

The point that is being made is that the NBA already has a LeBron, Tmac, etc that can match up with Durant. The reason Oden will be so valuable is because not as many people will be able to match up with him.

Yeah, exactly.

See i think that they both will have very successful careers in the NBA but Greg Oden is one of those one in a million players who can shoot rebound make free throws and handle the ball

Damn man people hyping this kid up more than Lebron.....ahahaha NEVER THAT!

But seriously one in a million? I am completely against hype, especially before the player has played a single NBA game. Lets wait until he has even been drafted before we call him great and compare him to Hall of Famers like so many people like to do. I am impressed with his moves down low but we have to remember he is playing against college players so things like blocked shots and rebounds should be expected from a 7'0 playing against short inexperienced opponents.

But from what I have seen from both players in college and going based off that I would definitely choose Kevin Durant and build a team around him.

sry gotta say it.. Reggie Bush?

SF's are valuable, durant is good, just dont think he will dominate the nba like he does college, and i think oden has a CHANCE to be a dominate nba player. thats what im basing my opinion on.

I don't think Reggie got this much hype but he was actually successful in college and won the Heisman trophy, two national titles and yet was not drafted #1. Same thing might happen to Durant, he might not go #1 but he was clearly the best player in college basketball, putting up spectacular numbers and winning pretty much all the trophy's. I guess when it comes down to it it will come down to what the team needs and not what player is better.

Oh wow, way to read things too literally. Point is he's 7 feet tall and 280 pounds. He's already got good size but he's only goin to get bigger and stronger in the league.

If he could do all of this then you're implying that he'd be the best player in the league as soon as he hits the courts. People say that he has potential to be like TMac with slightly better defense. Dont give the guy all these tools: shoot like kobe, drive like Tmac, and dunk like Carter. That's overhyping the kid way too much.

I'd take Oden. We didnt know if Lebron was capable of fulfilling his hype at the time. Big men like Oden are so rare. There's always a couple of good perimeter players coming in every draft. Just the size and athleticism alone from Oden demands the 1st overall pick. I can pretty much guarantee you that most managers would build their teams around a big man, meaning they would choose Oden over Lebron if they came out at the same time.

Lol me over hyping? 😆 😆

Never that, but I simply critiqued his first year in college and went based off that, where he was the best player and put up the best numbers and won the MVP of college basketball and I do think he can play this way in the NBA. But the transition is different and harder for post players, which is another reason why I would pick Durant and build a team around him.
