For Annihilus to HH.

When the chance arises, I'd like to put Grey Hulk (Mr. Fixit) on the list.

Ahh, so you're actually supposed to read the list? mmm

Anyhow,
Composite Superman to Trans, or what?

For Annihilus to high herald.

I actually think Trans is too low for Composite Superman.

Agree with Fatnude. 3-4x Silver Age Superman's physical ability, Braniac 5's intelligence and Element Lad's powers alone make him a beast. Never mind the rest of the Legion powers.

Bitchdude's right, let's keep him off the list.

So, what moves are being voted on?

Hey, so I started adding Ultimate universe characters. Check out page 1 for details. I think I did it in a fairly painless way so that we're not taking up a bunch of extra room on the list (when they're the same tier as their 616 counterparts, that is).

Didn't add too many, just some obvious ones. Lemme know if anyone sees a problem with any of my placements. Mainly I just wanted to get them into reasonable starting positions. And generally if they walk the fence between 2 tiers, I chose the lower of the 2 to place them.

Using (U) and (Ultimate) for different things irritates me to no end and since people usually don't read directions it might be confusing. The notation (+U), which could be easily extended for other major alternate universes, seems like it would be more effective for denoting the inclusion of both in one entry.

/OCD gripe

If you're really OCD, and you really want to use "+___," wouldn't you prefer to use the Ultimate Universe's actual number? Since, most other universes will be similarly numbered?

Okay, closer to OCPD, but my point stands. Besides the (+__) notation can be extended to AllStar (+AS), EarthX (+EX), KingdomCome and the Kingdom (+KC) as well as anything else that becomes relevant. Using the universes' number is exessive and not used by every company.

Really, though, my main point is that the plus sign should be added to denote that it is "in addition to."
For example:
Currently Superman is noted as "Superman (including R/B, KC, AS)."
The notation of "Superman (+R/B, KC, AS)" clearly expresses the same thought.
The notation "Superman (R/B, KC, AS)" while nearly identical would inevitably lead to someone asking where the normal Superman was put.

A simplistic convention would allow for easy addition and combination of alternate chaarcters without the need for explanation in the thread rules. Facilitation of determining approximate power level is the intent of this thread and I feel the use of (+__) notation is better for at-a-glance reading.

Just IMO, of course.

If anyone is curious, no I really don't have anything better to do with my time.

😂

Thanks for the suggestion. Not at my home cpu right now and time is a bit short, but I'll change it sometime in the next few days.

Sure, not everyone uses the number convention, but not everyone will be familiar with all abbreviations, either.

R/B, KC and AS should be familiar to most comic fans, but not all. And when we start using +U, +M, +E, where does it stop? Do we need to have a 'key' to define these as the Marvel Ulti-verse, Mangaverse and Exiles? Letters like U, M and E could mean several things, and may not simply click upon casual examination.

Solution?

😂

Jesus. Such a stir over abbreviations. I'll make a friggin' key or something, or at least standardize it like Sym suggests, and make a note in the rules or something to make it easier to understand.

I'm not actually bothered by/worried about it in the least. I'm just kinda trying to keep it going. Heh.

Don't be silly, Soljer.

Why not actually?

If people used them in fights, we would have to add them.
