I guess I connected with Warlock because he's so cosmically detached. Purging himself of good & evil...all that stuff. I'm not really a fan of believing strictly in "good and evil" ...opposites that are merely two aspects of the same whole, in my mind. Borderline pantheism type stuff.
But I can see where you're coming from there. And with all his incarnations, it gets confusing if you're not a fan. So they're legit gripes about him.

When the world is in danger the president doesn't pick up the red phone and say "Get me Captain Atom". He doesn't have the status.
By powerset he is above Superman. By average feats and status he's not.
Being placed in MidTierHerald isn't really a drop from TopTierHerald. TTH is for the "when the world is in danger who is the first person that springs to mind" folks.

I know. Hence it would be difficult to get Superman for the task. And he clearly didn't think Atom was powerful enough since he sent MajorForce, Powergirl and someone else to take down Supes.

Please. With Jeph Loeb, he could've sent Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, AND Captain Atom and the three of them would still probably get their shit kicked. 😂

Well thats certainly an impressive feat. I still put Atom at Mid since he's not the standard "go to guy" for defending DC Earth and Superman has done plenty of insane things.
