Heaven is a literal place (the rest must be inferred).

the fact that you believe jesus and god hate a certain group of people is rediculus. your so called "god" created them, in your beliefs. of course he created them to be banished and hated by everyone near them right?

you say you do not hate anyone, yet you hate based on a dualistic command given to you by "god"

you sir, are a joke on humanity

I never, ever, ever, ever, ever stated that God hated homosexuals. Show me where I stated that God hated homosexuals and I will leave this site forever.

God doesn't allow homosexuals into heaven so he throws them all into a lake of fire, so how is this love??? So do you hate people that are into incest or bestiality? Do you also love murders, lying, racism and people who steal?

Nice play on words again because for you being gay is not a part of that person but it is their lifestyle in your belief so you can say that God hates the lifestyle but not the person. You should be a politician with they way you can twist word so please define what the word "is" means. 😉 However being gay is who they are so if he hates the lifestyle he hates the person, please show me how it is not who they are and only a lifestyle.

Not to take any side here, but you can hate someone's lifestyle and still love the person. That doesn't just apply to whether or not someone approves of a homosexual lifestyle. There are many people who wish someone they loved lived differently.

I think the real question that should be addressed is whether or not homosexuality is innate. Is it a conscious choice someone eventually makes with only homosexual tendencies innate? Or is the entire disposition innate, leaving the individual with no choice? I think the answers to those questions is what will determine whether or not a person is condemned to hell for being a homosexual.

That is what I address in my later part of the post, is that being gay is part of the person not just a lifestyle so I God hates the lifestyle he hates the person. What about the people that are gay that have never done the act, they still are gay, not living the "lifestyle" but do they go to heaven?

There are people who believe (presumably based on absolute literal reading of the Bible which seems to condemn man on man sex but not necessarily being gay) that resisting the desire is all that is needed.

However, heaven is not a place you go after you die. This is heaven!

So if that is the case and based on JIA definition of sin is that we all want to sin but it is our choice to do it or not, so by that definition of theirs then you still are a sinner. If I read that correctly.

Everyone is a sinner according to the Christian faith. Romans 3:23 says something along those lines, like "all fall short of the glory of God." So yes, Da Pittman is exactly right.

Shaky, I'm curious. What do you believe happens when we die? I'm unfamiliar with that part of Buddhist doctrine.

Nichiren Buddhism does not deal with after death. This form of Buddhism is a practical practice that is focused on life, not death.

However, I belief we do not experience death; we only experience life. We are connected to each other like wave on the ocean are connected by the water below them. If a wave flattens out, were has it gone?

So then if it is in your heart to sin and sin can't let you get into heaven then how do you get into heaven? We all have the desire to sin as in the case of homosexuals but if you don't act on it you don't get into heaven according to one school of thought.

Something pure has to die.

The Christian faith says that the very reason Jesus was sent to Earth was to be punished in our place. It's hard to explain and I wish I had the pastoral credentials to do it justice, but it is from Jesus' self-sacrifice that everyone now has the opportunity to go to Heaven. So sin no longer prevents people from getting into Heaven. Now, I personally believe that those who repent their sins and accept Christ get welcomed into Heaven. I honestly have not decided what I believe about non-Christians, but I know nothing is impossible with God, so to say that someone is automatically barred from Heaven is not my place to say. That's probably a thread of its own somewhere.

It is based on animal sacrifice, where a pure animal was killed to wash away the sins of the Jewish people. Jesus, who is considered to be divine, was killed to wash away the sins of the world.

I personally find it to be barbaric.

These are the things that doesn't make sense to me for one says you must be without sin and another doesn't. So if a gay person has never committed the act then he is without sin for that but some say that if he desires it then he has sinned.

true, but keeping that pipedream of the christian heaven alive is truly rediculus to me.

That is because this is also hell, and 8 other worlds. Have you not ever experienced heaven in your life time? I do every time I look into space at the countless stars, or sit on the beach and listen to the waves, or watch a sunset.
