Can you handle the Truth?

OK, it comes down to this. Why doesn’t God just show himself? Why does he require you to believe in him through “faith” then not just show him self? This would not be against anything he has taught, you still have the choice to believe or follow his teaching but at least you have the knowledge that he does exist. He keeps his followers “dumb” on purpose which allows the Devil to do his work, so why wouldn’t he just show him self. What harm is there in the fact that all of his creation knows that he exists?

The absolute knowledge that there is a supreme being would essentially end any freedom of through (illusory or not) because it would mean that there is an objective answer to any and all questions. Also, a lot of people are total dicks and God probably doesn't want to bother with them. Good work guys 😬

Do you think that if god did indeed show himself to everyone, that atheists/seculars like yourself would become grovelling and pious, or would you just say "ok, he's real." and treat it like the discovery of a new animal and then go about your life as if nothing happened?

So taking that question into account, I think faith is a vital thing when wondering why god does what he does (assuming he exists).

I’m not sure what you getting at, but I will go ahead and answer you question. First of all if he does show up me and I would assume that most Atheists would that their belief was wrong and would change faith if the God of the Bible is real. Some would be the groveling and pious idiots that you spoke of, others would want to know more about God, others would want to know what the current religion has gotten wrong about God and wish to worship him in the correct manner and I would even assume that some would hate him even more than before.

The same could be said to people of faith if shown that their God doesn’t exist, some would still believe and others would change, some would go nuts and some wouldn’t care.

Faith by its self is one thing, but to use it as the deciding factor to “internal damnation and suffering” is another. Why would is be an issue that if God showed up and said “Hey I created you” would be an issue? How does this go against his teachings and the belief in Free Will, people will still make their own choices but at least they can be given the correct information. If God can’t stopped the Devil then how is a lowly human supposed to weed though all the Devils lies and figure out what is the truth?

I'd like to also add,
that if God did show up, it wouldn't necessarily mean that it would the Bible to be correct.
Within this possibility of Him revealing Himself, there also exists the possibility that He'd say that we're effed up about the whole Bible thing.

I'd like to also add,
that if god did show up, "he" would have a lot to explain. 😉

"Why do bad things happen to good pe-- aaaargha!?"

"Any other questions?"

No one can actually handle the Truth.
That's why the Creator made it relative.
So that no one man will ever be able to have a monopoly over it (the Truth).

Now that is an example of not having a handle on the truth. 😂

I dunno, I thought it was quite profound.

I think that people claiming to have a monopoly to the Truth are definitely people to stay away from.
Some of the wisest people in history have stated that the reality is,
there is so much more that we do not know than we do.
The minute anyone starts to believe that they know it all,
is the moment they begin to close their minds off to new ideas, solutions, creativity & most importantly, to communication. True communication can only begin with true listening. True listening can only start when one party clears their mind in order to give the other their full attention. To listen with the intent of understanding. When one's mind is filled with their version of absolute truth, there is very little room for this, & they mostly tend to listen more to respond than to understand.

Well, of course.
That remains without saying.

Truth is a Person. Jesus Christ said and I quote,

"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life...."

He is not a normal man.

He is also not a person, and how do you know he actually said that sense he didn't write it???

So if Jesus is a "Person" which would mean that he is "human" or "human like" that contradicts what you have said before, as you have said Jesus is God (The Trinity) when is the last time 3 people made a “person”?

You shouldn't say that about JIA. 😛
