We (humans) are created in the image and likeness of God. God is a Spirit and so are we. But animals are not spirits, but souls. Humans are tripartite. We are Spirit (the part of us that is like God); we have a soul (mind, will, emotions, intellect, personality), and both aspects (i.e. the spirit and soul) are present in what we call our body. Hence, we are spirit, soul, and body.
According to the book of Genesis, we were originally created to have dominion over the animal kingdom.

Yes but the problem with that is your in a setting dominated by individuals who require a more empirical rationale for said superiority, and your explanation doesn't fulfill that.

I can disprove evolution, i can offer proof of ID, but i cannot prove the bible except for things that I know happened, like exodus, or the flood, or the roman occupation of Israel, etc. I rely on faith for those things.
