Matthew 11:28-29
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
--JESUS THE CHRIST
Do you want yours sins washed away? Do you want to live forever? Ask Jesus Christ to wash away your sins and you will have everlasting life.
Say: Lord Jesus,
Wash away my sins in Your shed Blood. I believe that You rose from the dead and that You are the Son of God.
Give me eternal life so that I may live in Your Kingdom and be forever taken care by You.
Thank you Lord Jesus.

Okay, I asked. So now I have to wait until I'm dead to see if you were right about the Big J?
I don't know, seems like a sham to me, considering I can't come back and tell you what-for if you're wrong.

Lemme guess:
You didn't really want your sins washed away. Therefore your attempt does nothing to dent his faith. Alternatively, you did experience something but are lying about it because you are too prideful/jealous [or whatever deadly sin applies].
So his assertions fail to meet reality only because you aren't good enough.

So, when JIA says:

…he is not telling you all the truth. What he really should say is: “Ask Jesus to wash away your sins and maybe you will have everlasting life.”
But...But... I literally just asked him to not be sick anymore. Then I got more sick. So God doesn't do anything even if you do ask him. Maybe he couldn't hear me? I didn't raise my voice and he is "way the hell up there!" (Simpson, Homer).
So what did I do wrong? Does the password change every week? Is that you you go to church!?!?

Mechanically we receive from God by faith. Whatever things you ask when you pray believe that you receive it then you will have it.

Being a mechanical engineering major, could you explain the mechanics of faith, plz? Make sure to draw up a free-body diagram and show your work.
