No. Chance does not exist out side of our minds. Chance is simple us humans not knowing enough about the causes and effects that precede an event. Once all parameters are understood the outcome will be know.

Then the god of the bible created the world in such a way as to make it look a lot older then it really is. In other words, this god of yours has deceived us.
Also, how can you believe in the big bang, but only believe the universe to be 6,000 years old? In order for you to believe in the big bang you would have to believe that the universe is ~13.5 billion years old.

I'm Eastern Orthodox Christian, I don't take the Bible literally, and I don't think anyone should take any religious scripture literally. If man wrote it via a Higher Being, it's not enough to be accurate.

But that leads to the idea that you are not blind, and that just isn't the truth. The way you interpret your mythology is wrong. I may not be able to understand the true nature of reality, God or whatever you want to call it, but I can see very clearly that you do not "know". It is not possible for you or any other human to "know". We are all subject to the same rules. There is no such thing as hidden knowledge, and the true nature of reality cannot be written down. Therefore, the bible cannot be the word of God, but is in fact the word of man. The god of the bible is on equal standing to the Greek gods.

Others that post here, even the atheists that many look down at are moral people that are doing something for a progression in society, anything that will benefit humankind.
