This still makes me not want to read comics anymore. I mean they always stretched the imagination, but most of them followed some sort of continuity. Sentry should have beaten Hulk in one panel using his full power, and the power of a million exploding suns can blow up a building only? WOW! Fu*k Hulk... oh wait, he was really mad, that must mean he gets the power of a BILLION exploding suns... I already know two ppl who are close to giving up on comics altogether because of this one act.

So when Molecule Man blasted Beyonder with enough force to slag millions of dimensions, yet his NYC apartment remained untouched, that didn't bother you at all?
Or how about when Doomsday was blasted by Imperiex, who can cause a big bang that destroys the universe, yet only a little bit of energy was shown on-panel?
Or how about when Superman fought Doomsday, and the same guy who can survive an exploding star got knocked down when the gas station blew up?
Or how about when Odin who can destroy Galaxies, fought Thanos, and only a small portion of Asgard blew up?
Or how about when Saint of All killers shot god without destroying the entire universe along with it?
Or how about ... you get the picture. This is comic books, the characters are heroes, they are obviously not going to let the planet Earth blow up. They already caused enough devastation as it was.
Originally posted by Jade LightningI always just thought Hulk Knocked... er... Banner (sorry Battlehammer) knocked Bob out before the Power of a bajillion exploding suns could actually begin to do any REAL damage to earth... it was CONCENTRATED stuff and didn't get widespread quite yet?

SOFK uses bullets, go figure.
Imperiex used a tiny tiny blast.
Molecule Man and Odin, aim/focus their energies. They are proficient and skilled like that.
Superman PUNCHES, he doesn't unleash the power of a million exploding suns.
If the Sentry had simply punched the Hulk or empowered his punches, nobody would say anything. But when he let's loose the power of a million exploding suns, which can't burn through regular swords, and only a portion of the city is destroyed, then something is wrong.

The problem is, if Sentry did that, people would still be saying "BUT HE'S BETTER BECAUSE HE HAS THE POWER OF A MILLION EXPLODING SUNS!", even if he can never fully used it, cos people don't like Hulk now.
That's where realism DOES come in. Thanos could probably destroy Earth, so could Galactus, but why? Then there's no Marvel.
