Xavier is tending the wounded, because pragmatism apparently isn't his thing.
What would you have him do? Emma is blocking his powers, he's not much use in a fight, there's no point in telling people that Hulk s attacking because everybody knows already, he can't give himself up because the rest of the team won't let him.
Tending to the wounded seems like his only option (excluding suicide or fleeing in terror)

Emma, much as I adore her, shouldn't be able to block him anyway - especially considering he recently was upgraded in power.

He's not. That's why he's tending to the wounded and letting them fight 😕

Right now he's doing it voluntarily. Emma was only able to block him for a shot time.
Originally posted by Symmetric ChaosHe's not what? Party to the decision that set Hulk on this current sales ploy. I know. A rational intelligent person? Well he's supposed to be... but then he seems intent on dying for some reason for answering a hypothetical. Stopping them? He tried, Emma blocked him, and told him that the Cuckoos would block him too should he try anything.

Originally posted by Symmetric ChaosThat's a stretch, Emma basically casually told him that she was blocking him - somehow ends up meaning she was only able to block him for a short time when she only stopped because she was going to join the fight iirc.

How did you go from "he's helping the wounded because he's not pragmatic" to this?
I can see how he's acting foolishly (in the desire to give himself up) but the topic seems to have changed wildly and without provocation.

I'm old and tired. Specifics escape my memory occasionally.
