darthgoober's Amalgam Tournament Second Round Draft Thread

Ok here's the 2nd draft at this point. Several of these characters are questionable in my mind, so if anyone has a problem with any of them just speak up as to why...

I'm awaiting more info on Ben before I clear him, so if any of you know about him you should speak up as to whether or not he should be allowed.

Holy crap, SELENE? O_o?

Her Shadow form makes her impervious to ALL physical attacks. She's Immortal. Plus has a whole lot of other abilities.(TK, Teleportation, TP, Super Speed, Pyrokinesis, Control over inanimate objects, MAGIC.(She's also considered a threat to Kulan Gorath and managed to trick him.) Oh and she has a death touch.

Wow, Indigo, as in one of the Brainiacs?
Maybe I'm wrong I thought Braniac > Ironman. It can be dealt with so I won't push but ehh, just makes me think about it.

Who the hell is Zxaxz? ... you mean Zzzax the Hulk's enemy?

Ben 10 doesn't have enough appearances and Selene does seem to be >> IM.

Don't know who Indigo is though so I can't comment on him/her.

She never really appeared to be > than Ironman but I would think she'd have more than enough potential being a Brainiac and all.

Ehh never mind as long as no one else cares then she's fine with me too.

Question-

Say Colossus was picked for body... is it assumed he gets his armored form? Or would it just be Piotr in regular human form, seeing as changing would technically be a power...?

Ok first of all, EVERYBODY calm down. Just because I'm away for a few hours doesn't mean that you all have to start bickering because you don't know whether or not I'll ban a certain character. If you have an objection to someone that's been picked, state your case as to why and I'll do my best to address it when I check in. If it's your character that has been objected to, just PM your response to the objections and I'll make my decision after I look over both sides and talk to some of the judges. There's no reason for everyone to ruin this tourney like the last by arguing unnecessarily.

This was actually dealt with earlier. Goober said he will be ruled as starting in his armored form, since that is basically when his powers are considered passive/on.

Throw Selene out. She's not only the only External left, SHE KILLED OFF MOST OF THE OTHERS! She's too damn powerful.

If Indigo is indeed a teambuster, then she needs to be kicked.

In the show Ben's forms are capable of:

Superhuman strength, durability and agility
Immense superhuman speed (sublight but over sound)
Superhuman senses (DareDevil like) and agility
Intangibility and invisiblity that can be negated only by light
Breathing underwater
Immense intelligence
Fire progection and flight
Technopathy, energy progection, modification of existing technology to a far more advanced form that need not always be related to the tech' orginial prurpose
Near invulnerability, the ability to create sharp edged weapons, superhuman strength, immunity to laser like weapons
Flight, multidirectional vision, goo spiting
Near invulnerability while in motion, moderate superspeed

Those are just his common forms 😬 and cartoons usually downplay a character's abilities.
His main limitation is just CIS and the fact that he can't switch at will and must recharge the watch after each use (although his older self [called Ben10000] has overcome these problems)

Personally I think he would lose a forum fight against Tony due to his lack of intelligence but without that limitation he could probably get the job done.

Anyway thats just my 2 cents. The comic character might be completly different.

1.Indigo(changed from Forge): dl's description of that battle with the outsiders is not all that accurate -- sorry dl. connor was present as were luthor, the REAL brainiac, his ship and about a dozen superman robots. she had a good shoing in the last couple issues, but everyone has good showings. she also DIED there, so of course it will be a good showing. throughout the series she was definitely never above ironman. ban indigo? 👇

8.Selene: hmm, her mind/power category is VERY blurry. no one really knows what her mutant powers are, so whoever is using her could just make it up. that is a bit of an issue, imo. she also has life drain and uses magic in kulan gath's territory. that is pretty uber. she's the first character that has been drafted that i'd say may deserve looking at again. she's not SO far over caps that i'd be despondent were she allowed, but . . . life drain + uber-magic may need some reconsidering.

9.Zxaxz: i've always placed zzzax in the sandman/hydroman category of killability. if his BODY is being used, it may need to be looked at. if it's his 'power', then -- 👆

and i know nothing about this 'ben' guy. does he have 10 comic book appearances?

true she did stop jade's powers, but she had MONTHS to study jade's abilities. 😬

garce and thunder isn't that big a deal. she never beat down starfire, THAT battle was interrupted. but starfire DID blast her arm off. had she aimed elsewhere -- which she did NOT because she was only WARNING her -- who knows, she may have killed her.

like starfire, ALL of them were sort of holding back at the start because they still weren't sure what was happening. 😬

i have the books. it's a good showing (very good series, actually). but nothing that would definitively place her above ironman, imo.

this is the problem with calling for bans -- MOST characters have high showings that may appear to place someone over caps. but that doesn't mean they really ARE over them. i trust goob and the people he's working with. and don't forget people -- if some feat comes out in a battle, that character can be BANNED ON THE SPOT -- DURING the match. so IF someone sneaks someone into the tournament and shows a scan that clearly depicts said character as being ABOVE the caps, well . . . that person will be pretty much s. o. l.

(which is why i don't feel too worried about letting in almost anyone. if they try and any stuff . . .
