Tons of characters of all ranges have done what looked like a lot of physical damage to Spectre... however, physical damage doesn't harm, nor can it defeat, nor kill Spectre.
^ What he said. doped.

In case anybody hasn't pointed it out yet... Surfer could have just crushed the armband that's allowing BP to breathe in space to get out of the hold.
I just had a perusal of the Hudlin board... some of the people there are just plain... bizarre, to put it as euphemistically as possible.
"a white guy flying through space on a surfboard..."
"HOLY sh*t! YOU'RE RIGHT!
THERE'S A NEGRO IN SPACE!
And he's touching this bright, white, shiny cosmic being!
The sky MUST be falling!"
"yeah BP is such an uppity negro..how dare he lay hands on this ultimate shiny being"
"you and I understand this, but the fanbrats seem to be in shock that an African is
1. actually in space Shocked (in the entire marvel universe how many supremely powerful cosmic beings look like africans)
2. can actually touch a "cosmic being" much less put him in a choke hold. Shocked"
An alien with a silver metallic coating from the planet Zenn-La is obviously a "white guy" and the only reason people are displeased with it is because the Black Panther is African, and not because it's simply and plainly put absofu'ckinglutely stupid writing.
I don't think I've ever particularly wanted or needed there to be cosmic beings from other planets i.e. not earth, that resemble my human ethnicity.

Well xmarksthespot, ask yourself this: If Captain America Or DareDevil had done this, would the uproar have been the same? Probablu not...
Personally I'd go as far to guarantee that the uproar would have been identical but without the "race" discussion. Take Batman and his batkick for example.

Yes. It would be. 😐.
Karate Kid doing something like this would be acceptable - the kid's a joke. He's a plot device.
Cap doing this? Murdock? T'Challa? Wayne? Elektra? Wolverine?
Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit.
