I have to reconsider my entire view of the world now.

Yeah, in my head I make fun of this guy who comes to college on a bike with a seat that looks like a baby chair.(I think he may have back problems) Looks like that's going to have to stop.
In my defence, he sort of asks for it because he wears his helmet throughout the entire college day which makes absolutely no sense at all. I must be ignorant.

To one degree or another, all of us are racist. Not outstandingly so or enough to have us avoid each other or dislike each other or even to make a significant impact on how we feel about each other. But we always look at those who are different from us slightly, well, different. We have prejudice against those in other countries, those who dress differently, those who have different religious beliefs, and those who have different skin colors.

I used to believe the very same, but life experience has taught me differently. I have found that if you spend adequate time around/within ANY culture, eventually you will come to understand it almost as well as you understand your own.

My own experience, for example? The dorm I live in is full of Asians and Indians (brown indians, not the red variety, 😛).

Whereas, the high school I had previously attended was a mixture of White, Hispanic, and Black (the first two being about equal in distribution, and the latter being a bit less). There were a couple Asians, but probably not more than ten out of the entire 2500+ student body. Indians? Hell, I can't remember a single one.

When I first moved in, I would say I was probably racist by your definition. I didn't dislike them, I didn't think I was better than them, I didn't do anything to harm or hinder them, but I simply didn't know how to react. I reacted differently to them and their culture compared to how I would have reacted to Hispanics, Whites, or Blacks.

However, after living in the same building as them for the past two years? I've come to know a bit about the Hindi, Canto, Mandarin, Japanese, Taiwanese and many other cultures. I now react to meeting a new Indian the same as I used to when meeting a new Hispanic, Caucasoid, or Black.

I will say, however, that I have a slight fear that I, now, would be unable to treat Whites, Hispanics, or Blacks in the same way that I used to. I've gotten so used to Asians and Indians that I've someone lost the other cultures. Who knows?

Anyways, this was a bit long winded, and no one needs my life story, I just wanted to point out that it is possible to reach a point where you stop reacting differently to different skin tones. There is a point where you just....get used to it, I s'pose?

Awh, it's like a real life Lawerence of Arabia 😍

Damnit. Fugging editing rules. The 'someone' in the second to last sentence in the second to last paragraph is supposed to be 'somewhat.'

for being educated????

Your most likely white, since your white, you are born at the top of the scale, life is not fair, on a grander scale you in life will recieve more chances, and have better resources than me, simply because you are white, that is the truth, and that is not fair.

and that is racism

Oh please, thats a bunch of Bullsh*t and you know it 😐

Do you honestly believe that because I have a lighter skin tone than you that, I automaticly am going to have a better life?!? 🤨

And you're not educated, you're a brainwashed fool who can't see past the color of people's skin.

Face it KAM, you're a racist

Some of what he said was of value.

No, but he like a lot of America believe without even knowing you that because your "white" you will be more successful that the man standing next to you who happens to be black.

He's not stupid by any means. He just views the world differently as you. In similar situations, he may be treated differently than you.

Isn't that a problem with a lot of people?

🙁

Your sig is racist, Souja. 🙁

The fact that you think that by being white you dont have better chances in life than me is the ****ing definintion of institutionaliuzed racism.

YOU THINK SHIT IS EVEN?!?!?!?! IT ****ING NOT!!!

im brainwashed????? why is it that Most men of power in the world are white???? ITs because of global stratification and the colonization of lesser nations.

I am black, by being black, i will most likely have access to less resources, and not as many oppurtunities in life as you have, simply because i am black. This country was built of slavery, that is how America flourished, any man who doesnt admit that is a ****ing racist.

you know the funniest part???? that people on the top are always the one's telling other people on the bottom to get over shit, and i agree, black people should focus less on complaining and more on rebuilding, but the fact is if you are born white, you most likely are in a family that is better off, this country has never once had any set of laws to keep your color down, you are the dominant race in america, so does it mean that you are AUTOMATICALLY gonna have more resources, imagined social wealth, better access to education, and more oppurtunities than me??? ofcourse not. But the world is most definatley in your favor.

if you dont acknowlege the fact that being white makes life especially in america easier, than you are lying to yourself, and you are a racist.

I am a poor young black man, born to a poor black family, I struggle to leave the lower class, So how can i be racist???? I dont got shit to protect, getting along with white people will only help me in life, because any predjudice i ever show, will only keep me at the bottom.

These things were all taught to me by a 45 year old woman with a Phd from one of the best public institutions in the nation, who came from a middle class family, she knows what she is talking about, and these things are true, its just, most white people have their head so far up their ****ing ass that they actually think that shit is fair, that they are simply better.... because how and the **** else do you explain, the global situation???
