Canada disgraces itself on the enviroment.

Nope and that is not true. It is not all federal

nope, not even the vast majority of it

but there is some, especially in academic institutions like the ones that do climate research

honestly, whats your beef with nasa. What have they done to make you suspect they are not a real scientific body

Nothing. Bias info is possible here. Politics knew the truth.

There is nothing conclusive about that entry. It just says "we might not know."

lol

the only reason I posted it was to elaborate on how complex and unpredictable the climate is

NASA has not changed its view on global warming, and that study doesn't indicate that they should 🙂

I really wouldn't be afraid of NASA having a pro admin policy though, espcially if there stuff is getting printed in peer review, meaning other non government scientists have checked over and back up what they are saying

LOL, no it won't hurt Harper. Environmental reform is popular, Kyoto is not. Harper is probably going to get a majority next election because everyone knows what else there is...

NDP = run country into the ground through overspending and Jack Layton is potentially the worst thing that would happen to international relations.

Liberal Party = no backbone, no solid leader (he's a dual citizen with France which should be an automatic fail), scandals, made our military an embarassment

Conservatives = reduced GST, balanced budget that passed, strong foreign relationships, got several billion dollars back from the Americans over the softwood agreement (the Liberals got 0...), successfully, told the Americans to stay out of our northern waters, kept their word on putting homosexual marriage to a free vote , etc. They have kept their word, have improved the economy, improved our military so we embarass ourselves less, instead of just agreeing to Kyoto without a plan have actually made a plan that works for Canada and doesn't just piss our money away to Africa

Conservatives have credibility and backbone and that is why they will win if they don't do something during the election campaign.

You honestly think voters are that smart? They vote with their hearts not with their heads, ones strong issue can kill you in a political campaign.

It is a tad optimistic, but there are no other options. The Conservatives have proven themselves able to run the country with a backbone and assert our sovereignty. Towards the end of the Chretien era was almost embarassed to be Canadian because of our station in the world. That is being turned around.

You mean we are becoming more like the US and people are liking us less and less each day. I am embarrassed for the way we look on the world stage right now.

The states swept the Nobel prizes this year

we could stand to emulate them in some regards

Great, what about their health care crisis? The fact that social security is going down the drain? Failing public schools and increasing crime rates. The poor in the states have the same quality of living as some third world countries.

Nobel Prizes are not everything.

sigh

yes starhawk 🙄

So now your going to just insult as well instead of brining up counter points? Sorry that I care about people who aren't rich.

im not disagreeing with you

my point was that Canada could do better in sciences and that America may be a good model

nowhere did I say anything about those issues

stop being so emotional

I am just making the case that some social things are more important.

I wouldn't disagree

I'd say poverty is more important than global warming

Both are important, both deserve attention.

Yeah, rational attention, the sort of attention that neither the right nor the left is giving them.

On Poverty, I totally agree with you, neither has done much of anything. On the environment, the left is trying to give it attention and the right is sandbagging them.

Money, or lack of, isn't going to mean much when the environment walks up behind you and whacks you.

I disagree. I believe the left is trying to hype it and use it to win elections,...pretty much like you said yourself. Global Warming and environmentalism is such a big issue with the voting people, and well, we just really know so little.

If you remove the US from the global warming issue, there are still quite a few other countries whose scientists would disagree.
