Appeared in the Wolverine: Origins book, it's not that old but it did appear before.

No that is the Black Blade which was made by Muramasa and houses his soul. Two different swords.

Honestly the issue was fine. There was nothing wrong with. Sabertooth death was a little short and so forth. But lets be honest here. How was there going to be a big fight when Logan had a weapon that could kill sabertooth very easily. It made sense. There was not going to be a big fight becuase sabertooth stood no chance, not with that blade of wolverine. It also showed though sabertooth was a terriable man he did infact fear death and had some very slight good in him it seemed though he was extremely evil. I liked the way they handle this issue.

He's had a crap load of magic swords but only two of them have any connection with Muramasa, and the one he has right now was never seen or mentioned before Origins and Endings.

Wolverine with his magical blade cuts Sabretooth's arm off, so Creed tries to put it back on but falls off again as the sword stops his healing factor. So Wolverine offers Sabretooth a chance to fight back as he is going to kill him, but Sabretooth cries and says do it. So Wolverine cuts his head off saying Happy Birthday. Scan of him getting his head cut off has already been posted in the thread
