I'm half tempted to point out that all his talk has been one big logical fallacy. I'm not entirely sure why he feels the need to seperate the two characters. I mean Wolverine was obviously planned to go up against the hulk. and even after the retcon where he was made older and given real claws he repeatedly goes up against the Hulk. Heck, you'd think the healing factor would give him MORE of a reason.
