Wolverine: The Best There Is #1 preview

The new Wolverine #1 was pretty good. The art is amazing across the board in the main and the back up story, although there are some suspect character designs. As for the story, I really liked the beginning and end of the book but the middle, Melita and Mystique, section was pretty meh... I'm not looking forward to that plot thread unfolding even slightly. The best part of the main story was a twisted monologue by I guess Satan where Aaron's writing really stands out. Not a home run but a solid opening to a new series and a new chapter in Wolverine's history.
The real star of the book is Jason Aaron's Silver Samurai back up story, which is just amazing. Seriously... it's worth the price of the book alone.
I liked it but it just feels like the set up of a long arc, instead of answering any questions it made it only set up more. I liked seeing Logans girllfriend again though, Im liking the very human side of Wolverines character.
The whole him being not in control of his body though just reeks of the 'enemy of the state' arc by Millar and John Romita Jr but that was completely awesome so Im all for revisiting that concept.
Wolverine number 2 - Any thoughts?
Not sure what to make of it - Not that much changes overall, except for a couple of old characters coming back (really not liking what they've done to them, preferred it when they left them as history)
The new devil is pretty cool too, although he doesn't really get up to much other than standard hellish stuff. Still no answers to how the hell did Logan end up in this situation.
I like the little extra story on the end, not as good as last issues Silver Samurai one but Amiko and Yuriko haven't been seen in a while and its good that Aaron brings them up again.
Overall is interesting with decent artwork as expected, but no real jumps in the storyline.

I thought it was amazing, Wolverine reacting to the hopelessness of his situation.
thigns that gave me chills:
- Wolverine's scream heard throughout hell
- Sabretooth on a leash

Totally awesome issue. Shredder, McLeish, Dog... wow. Nice to see them again. Can't wait for the next issue... November 3... argh.
I think the "Wolverine gets brainwashed" storyline may be overdone though, I mean it's happening simultaneously in the X-Men book (with him as a vampire), these events must be happening within weeks of each other, right?

Liked that, too. Didn't read his run though 😮
It is. Aaron made a joke about that in the back-up story (Amiko moment).
Marvel should care more about the timeline.
Just read it. So far loving the story. Although a bit tired of the whole mind control/body posession thing. He's now possesed by this demon. He's a vampire. And in the last NA book he's been briefly possesed by Agamotto. And now his body containts Brother Voodoo's spirit along with the spirits of all other avengers. Bit too much?
anyone thing vamp wolverine should shoot straight to elder lvl vamp control and animal summing abilities like a duck in water?
What can I say about Wolverine: The Best There Is? Well... remember when we thought that Wolverine: Origins was the worst Wolverine title? Get ready because you'll be wishing for the days of Wolverine Origins after you finish reading this monstrosity. Wolverine cutting hair. Wolverine dancing. Wolverine wearing tuxedo shirts and ripped jeans. Stilted dialogue and poor characterization. It's a mess.

That's a pretty big strength feat for demonic wolverine
