Spider-Man 3...Lame?

The movie was painful to watch. I was eager as anyone else to see it. I was very open minded for the first half hour, even though I saw a few things that was unusual for a Sam Raimi Spider-Man film. By the next hour, I leaned over to my buddy and asked him honestly if he was enjoying this. He said "no & that the movie reminds him of what Sam Raimi put out when he did Darkman. A little forced, corball, campy, too coincidental, weak script... etc." All from the first 1 1/2 hours.

Peter's EMO/bad guy transformation was ridiculous. What??? The wacky John Travolta/Borat dancing down the street and at the club was embarrassing. What were the producers thinking???

How can Sandman cry???

The crying and tears throughout got annoying cause it looked forced and fake. The people in the theatre actually laughed and moaned when Peter cried in front of MJ.

When MJ was hanging 80 stories up in a taxi and Peter took a moment to reflect putting on his regular red and blue costume, someone in the audience actually yelled, " Just put the effing costume on and save her stupid!" The theatre laughed at that outburst.

The film had WAY too many unnecessary scenes with characters talking that did not add to the film, but made it longer and more boring. Harry and MJ making eggs and dancing, to name one. Too many more to even add.

Bottom line... I was thoroughly disappointed. Even X-Men 3, which was a huge drop off from the amazing X-2, was watchable. Spidey 3 is not.

I won't be watching it again. That is too bad.

heh hee.Not at all surprising to hear because that describes the first two movies perfectly which you said so well, cornball, campy,a little forced, and they definetely had weak scripts so no reason to believe it would be any different than those two movies.yeah I have heard about that scene of him dancing down the street doing John Travolta.Oh my god,I cant believe they could possibly do something so stupid like that. 🙄 Well With Raimi and Sony producing these films actually I can, anythings possible with those idiots in control over the franchise.

My friends tell me that the people werent even laughting with those scenes with peter dacing in the street like travolta and then playing the piano as billy joel.It was so ridiculous and painful to watch that it wasnt even funny.

Really, raimi and sonny starting destroying this franchise with the first man spider, and in this one they have finished the job.

Dude...see it, ok...before you make judgements because it really isn't that much of a bad movie...stop complaining

I thought it was a bit predictable with what happens to Pete/Harry.
The Spidey CG were still unconvincing with no weight and the fights were too fast and showy with the cg,the Peter jazz club scene was dire and was the Emo fringe supposed to be cool?.

Plus points were Hayden Church, the Venom face CG ,Bryce Howard and J Jonah stole every scene he was in and good to see spidey with the cocky at last.

To bad Spiderman wasnt in it very much. It was all peter Parker. I think they should have CGI'ed his horrible crying scenes, because that was some of the worst acting ive seen in a while, and i just got done watching smoking aces

Do you hate people in general?

Man why is almost everyone bitchin about this movie?

I'm one of the biggest Spiderman fans there is and I was skeptical as hell going into this movie. I didn't think any COMIC movie period could beat Spiderman 2 but some how they did it. Spiderman 3 was, well, Amazing! I mean yea there were a few bad points. Like Gwen had no reason to be in this movie at all. They just wanted to add her name to it. And I still am not completely cool with Topher Grace as Eddie Brock but I gotta admit I did warm up to him. I loved when he begged Peter not the expose him for the fake he was. lol

As far as everything else thou. Awesome! Just Awesome!

Peter and Harry was great. Been waitin 2 years to finally see that and I loved how Harry went out the same as in the coimcs.
Sandman was freakin sweet!
Screw all yall that disagree Peter going into and coming back from the suit was great and so fitting for his character.
Peter letting all the fandom of Spiderman go to his head was really good too.
With a few discrepancies Venom actually impressed the hell outta me. I was so convinced they were totally gonna blow that but I they could've done soooooo much worse. Would it kill them to have him refer to himself as we thou? ermm

maybe becouse some people like me like a well written script instead of a flick made for mindless people, i mean i know this is target for a child audiency but thats not a excuse to come with a shallow script like that.
i enjoyed and repit, i enjoyed bits of it,like as you mentioned the harry peter relationship,it was great, realy true to comics, even the amnesia hapened in a comic, but BITS dont make a movie.it overall looked that they just start meddling ideas and put it into a final cut.and if rumours that the movie started shotting without a closed script,it makes even more sense.

come on guys, the movie was not that bad bad, it was darn good but was not great like we wanted it to be, maybe because we were so hyped, anyway the flaws of the movie was mainly the over extended talking and love sences, and a bit of more more fight action with sandman and vemon would have helped too...... i personaly wanted to see sandman, he kicked ass, he was definately no joke in this movie, good thing they didn't decied to kill him with the water scene with blacksidey, venom was good, i mean cgi and all that stuff, but needed more time on screen. so buttom line, it was a very good movie but not a great one, i still think it was better than 1 but somehow on the same level or just alittle better than 2. regardless it was a good movie...

Spider Man 3: Good Movie

I had to make this thread to balance out all the b*tching that people have been doing.

I saw the Midnight showing of this Thursday night, and loved it.

The fight scenes were stellar, and I found myself unconsciously gripping my seat several times in the Spidey-Goblin fight.

Some of the dancing parts were kind of... sad, but overall I found the movie to be pretty good. Better then the first one, in my opinion.

I disagree. The plot was well written, I don't see what was wrong with it at all. The script was fine me and most other people have no problem with it. I think people who say I came in open minded and hated it, didn't really come in open minded. I mean you and many other comic obsessed people on here seem to not be able to get past the fact that it's not going to be like the comics. They don't just want comic fans, they want people who usually wouldn't go see a comic film to come. The only reason I'm even bothering writing this is because I don't want another Mr.Parker/Bakerboy running around on this forum.

I thought it was the best one so far. But some(most) people on here feel the need to whine to everyone about how much they hate the film.

The action scenes were great....but to say the plot was "well-written" is just hysterical.

😆

It was passable at best.

well after your response to me, i change my opinion and i couldnt care less about your, i give a F*** if everyone things the same, thats what makes me a individual that i can think for myselft and not go along with everyone.
and who the hell are you calling comic fan obssessed?im not obsessed and if you knew me from since the first movie here, you know that i didnt care much to the changes they made and could make to this series, but the script was shallow, this was not even a movie aimed for kids, cos im my session they werent enjoying it much.it was just bad written,if you like good for you.and dont dare call me baker boy!
its spell greed all over.and though the end of the movie i could hear, arad arad arad being spoken repetedly.

I HATE THIS MOVIE! YOU SHOULD TOO!
IT SUCKS! BLANTANT DESCHARATERIZATION!
< MAN SPIDER! MAN SPIDER! MAN SPIDER!

yah,im being sarcastic

I really think that if they had only cut sandman's screen time and development way down or just remove him completely in favor of eddie brock/symbiote development, the movie would have been like an unbelievable amount better.

i dont think he helped the movie in anyway, like everyone here already said, hes just an uninteresting character that raimi failed to make interesting.

they just kind of wasted all the potential to make a really good venom. i mean eddie brock was barely in it and all that happens to him is that peter ruins his career and sort of takes his girlfriend that he apparently didn't care about and that we never actually saw him with. then suddenly hes in a church asking God to kill peter parker? they just didnt make him nearly as important as he should have been.

when will you learn NO AMOUNT OF SCREEN TIME WOULD MAKE VENOM BETTER,HE IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU SAW! A WHIMP SELF PITY LOSER!
HE GOT MORE SCREEN TIME THEN DESERVED!

he stole the light from green goblin2 wich was what this movie should had been centered on.

Alright let's get something straight here RJ. I'm trying to be nice and not offensive but apparently your just some p.o.'d person who wants to start fights. I've seen you act irrational time and time again on this forum and frankly it's annoying. But I would like it if when you insult me you try to use proper spelling and at least some decent grammar. Your first part their saying "I couldn't care less about your, i give a f*** if everyone things the same," doesn't really make much sense to me. I think you were saying I'm mad at you for having an opinion, but I'm not and I don't recall saying anything along the lines of: you must think what I think you can't disagree with me. I mean because I didn't say that or mean that. I called you comic obsessed because at the bottom of your post it seems like you're saying the only parts you enjoyed were parts that were true to the comic, though it seems I've misinterpreted that so for that I apologize. Also, I didn't ever call you baker boy, I said I didn't want you to end up like them, but from what you've just written to me you seem to be about on the same level as them, maybe worse.
