they just kind of wasted all the potential to make a really good venom. i mean eddie brock was barely in it and all that happens to him is that peter ruins his career and sort of takes his girlfriend that he apparently didn't care about and that we never actually saw him with. then suddenly hes in a church asking God to kill peter parker? they just didnt make him nearly as important as he should have been.

adding the cancer element would have helped a lot i think. make him be dying and then have evil symbiote peter take all that stuff away from him. then ill believe that he really wants God to kill peter.

You don't know what makes a good movie. The writing was poor, the acting was poor, the story was so different from the comic book that they might as well make it a completely different superhero movie. The plot development was non-existant, there was way too much drama, EVERYTHING was wrong.

nah i dont think so.
all they have to do is:
show peter and eddie's mutual dislike(as they did)
show peter being more successful
show eddie getting diagnosed
show peter taking away gwen
show eddie losing his job(as they did)
doing these story elements wouldnt have to be really drawn out or anything. if they were, itd be boring anyways. i just really think it would have made for a better movie

now a days the concept of good written movie directed at people who are smart is long gone,its all wraped to fall into everyones taste and likeness,and goes down to people opinions, they try to center on what most people like so they can make the most buck out of it,thats why most movie are such cliche and alike,becouse they fear to cross the we know what is safe line and go somewhere else.
and people dont mind,most of them becouse they lack their own opinion,you know a phrase that goes like this?
" a individual is smart,the society is not" albert einstein (sorta like this i trasnlated from portuguese).
if it please the masses (society) thats all they care,thats why movies that are very written are generely production who are not liked by the "general public".
i dont consider myself part of general public,wich is why im used to more smart movie,and i understand of scripting and story telling having done cinema course,and thats why i couldnt stand this movie,the last ones were well done even if they were not that much really but they were enjoyable,the felt a unified movie,this one does not,and it screams its not.thats my grief with it,they could do all they wanted to venom and sandman ,HECK they could make SPOT kill uncle ben, as long as the script was tied toguether and it felt like one bigger story unlike many diferent bits put toguether i would have liked it.

I thought the fight scenes with Harry were awesome. They made the movie for me. The Sandman at the end was too much. He was too big, and come on, Spidey taking poundings like that wouldn't exactly heal in time to beat Venom. Venom's character was well-developed, but the Sandman was rushed. Frankly I could have seen the movie without the Sandman.

I thought that i was so dissapointed because it was so hyped aswell, but it really wasnt a good movie at all, No character development, no direction of a story, no build up for emotional battle sequences. Really by the time we reached the final battle i was just waiting for the damn thing to end so i cold have a smoke, and go see hot fuzz again

I agree with you on the sandman not being needed. I think for me it was that the sandman and venoms characters were just underdevoleped.
I dont know though, spidey could probably take a beating like that from sandman and still have enough reserve left over. I just thought it was funny how The situation was rushed so much into being emotional, Spidey gets slammed three times and we cut to the media saying...this could be the end of Spiderman...i mean come on now ..lol that was poor movie making right there

More than half of the movie critics and yahoo reviewers who know nothing about the comics and only went to see this movie to see a good film are shitting all over it as well.
How can you say it had a well written plot? What was the plot? Peter Parker struggling with arrogance, and his darker side? Well, if that were the case it was not executed very well. This story was told better in the previous movie. The symbiote and sandman had NO story...leaving us with no connection towards them. The balance between Spiderman and Parker was nearly non-existent. the dialogue tried to sway towards a darker feel, but was horribly off balanced with all of the senseless humor, and redundant scenes of forced emotion
