The flag has nothing to do with religious motives.. It may have been created because of it, but right now it's just the historical flag of Turkey. There are plenty of other country's out there, secular country's that have crosses or references to God on their flag, or their coin or whatever. Just look at the US, doesn't it say something about God on the dollar bill?

Actually I believe I once read that the Turkish flag or at the time the Ottoman flag was the reason the star and the crescent became religious signs, could be wrong here but still point remains religious symbols on important national items don't automatically make the country a religious state.

Crescent Moon and Star are an old Arabic symbols from the time Il-illaha was worshiped - The Moon God and his two dauthers.
It was even found in temple dedicated to Il-illaha in south Saudi Arabia.

I looked it up on Wiki just to be sure and it had this to say

The traditional, national and cultural symbols of the Turkic peoples include the star and crescent—used as a symbol of Turks since pre-Islamic times[citation needed] when they aspired to Shamanism—wolves, a part of Turkic mythology and tradition; as well as the color blue, iron and fire.

It does mention the things being used before Islamic times...

A lot of countries where Ottoman Empire never reached use the symbol for example, Pakistan and Malaysia.

edit - note how star is actually different on other islamic flags to Turkish one. It probably is irrelevant, but interesting.

Yeah well the symbol definitely became religious, I'm not denying that. Just saying it was used as something else before it became religious.

My point is if you hate this land so damn much, then dudes just leave. Nobody is holding you guys hostage here. Go to Congo or Somalia where you get butt raped everyday of your life just for not kissing the local mobboss's dirty crusty Athlete's foot invested hoofs. Go live in other countries and see how much you appreciate this land. I love people who bash this country but when overseas and they screw up because most of the laws there are stupid or just too damn complex, the same America haters are crying and pleading for the first Embassy they can find for safe haven.
