What get's me is not what she did, but moreso how she did it.
It's crazy.
"More powerful" isn't relevant. I'm more powerful than a kitten, but a kitten can hurt me.
"If a kitten scratched me in the eye, or bit me in the femoral, it could take me out for quite a bit longer than Storm took out Stardust.
Galactus' heralds are unthinkably powerful, not untouchable."
Storm "touched" Stardust and Silver Surfer.....twice.

Also, it's odd, because Stardust has taken blows that destroy planets, to a smaller effect, and blows that dwarf a planet's size, to no effect.
She shouldn't have been able to do that, but, still means nothing.
Plus the fact that the comic had some bad pis showings, but meh.

Storm didn't "hit" her/it. She pulled her/it apart by wrenching electrons and sending them back violently.

What the **** do you keep saying "She wansnt even trying".
She WAS trying her best every singly time, she got extremely mad on two occassions and asked her husband of his approval of her move another time.
Storm is constantly portrayed as nothing comparable to heralds.

I said Stardust wasn't harmed by Storm's attack and that it only wasted his time. That I didn't feel like stalling a Herald, with a surprise attack no less, was impressive.
Then you came and claimed what was true, Stardust was unharmed and only inconvenienced briefly, and my opinion, that I wasn't impressed by it, were invalid because McDuffie said Stardust was hurt.
For one, what McDuffie said doesn't go against my observation that the attack had little effect on Stardust.
Two, what McDuffie said has nothing to do with me not being impressed with the feat.

for storm to be attacking them "without effort," the scene would need to be re-written. especially in the case of stardust. when she attacked surfer, not only did she make it clear what lengths she was going to to put the attack together, she also mentioned "i do my best work in an atmosphere." so, clearly, she was trying.
when attacking stardust, she was acting in a fit of rage, as seen not only by her twisted visage in the previous panel, but also in her history of killings. she believed, in this instance, that stardust had just killed gravity. her powers, while tied to her emotional state, do not act on their own. as mcduffie himself said, she had to take [or as you put it, wrench, which implies great effort] electrons out of stardust's form, and then coalesce them back into an attack. that requires effort. stealing part of a herald's very being is not something done "with ease."
stop trying to glorify these feats, because you only bring more criticism to them. i don't know how many times this will have to be pointed out to you before you accept it.

I could make the case that she was just slightly peeved since she only said "murderer" with no exclamation.
She even told Surfer that she had not hit him with her "full power".
You(proverbial) make the case that she did not hurt the heralds(if only for x amount of time). When that falls flat, you make the case that it took a HUGE, HUGE amount of effort on her part, despite what was depicted and stated from her (talking to Surfer)--"You will force me to hit you with my full power"--this right before Studust reconstitutes itself.
I'm not saying she can beat them, she can hurt them though per McDuffie's "Kitten analogy".shocklaugh
I think he's arguing that it just took effort to do those feats. That she didn't just fart and make these things happen without realizing they were happening OR that she was straining every fiber of her being to do these feats. As much as you refuse to believe this, 2cloud, there is a thing called a middle ground. Middle ground is not a myth; I've seen it.
I'm just saying:
1. Condensed the hydrogen particles in space around the Surfer to create an "effect". (cool control feat)
2. Separated the Surfer from his board as an "Attention Getter" (A list feat)
3. Dispersed a cosmic being (for however long) with it's own energy/electrons
(A list feat)
4. Took a shot from the Surfer (pre Power Cosmic drain) and did, in fact, get right back up.
4. Did, in fact, say that she would hit him (next) with her full power (implying that she was, in fact, not using her full power)
Pain maybe a debatable aspect of the fight. But the feats, in and of themselves, still hold impressive merit.
All in continuity. And not PIS.
Haters should face it. Storm is finally getting the power showings that she deserves. Thanks to McDuffie and Hudlin. Two writers that get paid just like all the other writers get paid, to do the same thing that all the other writers do.

In fact the heralds should have been able to simply turn her powers off, should have been able to disintegrate her body, should have been able to mind rape her, Should have been able to absorb any blast she threw, should have been able to simply take the blast head on without any effect.
The fact is for everything she did in that fight I can name more times heralds were in far worse situations. The fact is throughout most of her career Storm hasn't even approached the title of Herald level. The fact is just because a few writers all of sudden get a hard on for her doesn't change the fact heralds are >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Storm.
