Umm...wrong. The PS2 is the best selling console in history and is still around because it was the only one with any staying power at the end of the last generation (many people were actually pissed that Xbox & GC were just dumped by Microsoft and Nintendo). And correct me if I'm wrong, but the PS2 outsold all next-gen systems last Christmas, did it not? Obviously there is still demand. The developer wants people to buy the Wii version? Riggghhttt... cause they'd rather sell to a crowd of about 11 million, then a crowd of 120 million? Developers would love to still make games for the PS2 because development costs are low and the install base drawfs all the next-gen systems combined, but consumers want next-gen games so that's what they're getting, but it ain't helping the developers.
If he wants the PS2 version and you want the Wii so be it. Stop trying to turn this thread into a flame war of PS2 vs Wii.
I know all this but thanks for lacking reading comprehension skills. I simply love repeating myself to people who completely miss the point...The bottom line is that the PS2 is old tech who's time is long past, most people who play videogames regularly don't care anymore and have moved on to the newer systems, that's how it works. The developers would only have made the game for the current-gen systems if they could get their money back, but as you said the install base for the PS2 is massive (btw its only SHIPPED 120 million, not sold) and so they need to do it, if they didn't need to then you wouldn't be seeing the game on the PS2 because no one wants to make PS2 games anymore. Its out of necessity not out of wanting to.
