I agree with your observation, there's a lot of emotional reactionism towards the Hulk... just as some people just pop-up and say "Hulk Smash", so others seem intent on just saying Hulk would lose, with little or no reasoning given.
that said though, we can readily assume that there are qualitative differences between 'infinities' (since we can't quantify, as they are infinite), that some infinities are infinitely greater than others...
LT > Hulk is a case in point. Hulk might rage for an infinity of time and still not even make a dent in a flake of dandruff from the LT's hooded head...
the order difference between these two would make it more than reasonable to assume so. LT is multiversal, is above the universe, Hulk taps into power from another universe, he grows in power, he is not godlike from the off... and there's nothing to say that this universe he taps into, is outside of the LT's control (and thus, not a subset of LT's power).

No
Follow my Train of thought.
1. I re-read my Issue of 'What If : The Avengers were the pawns of Korvac.
2. Within said Comic LT is summoned to deal with Korvac, he ages the sun so that it goes Nova. It fails, to put things simply. LT then leaves stating he's 'Done all he can'.
3. There is only one LT
4. If Hulk can SOMEHOW survive this then he has (by technical) won.
