Here's a quick guide to removing spyware/viruses and safely securing your PC.

First of all, get an anti-virus program: http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php

Then go to: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and make sure you have all the critical updates.

Thirdly go here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...;DisplayLang=en
and install the anti-spyware software from Microsoft.

And finally, to stop ALL worms dead in their track and to make yourself instantly immunable, install the built-in firewall: http://www.microsoft.com/security/p...xp/firewall.asp

OR get a very good (free) firewall here: http://soho.sygate.com/products/spf_standard.htm

You can do a quick online check whether you have any spyware installed on your PC by visiting this url: http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/

Please see this page if you want more info on spyware: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

Still you have some options that can help you in dealing with the spyware related issue.

The programs that you need to look for are:

- Adware SE
- Windows Defender
- McAfee Antispyware

You can download these programs for free and they do not require any kind of activation to work.

Do I really have to know about all the Web Browers in the world to help someone? 🙄

And Inspectah Deck only wrote "MSN", which is the name of a website as well. So I got confused.

Anyways, what have you done so far to help him?

Why can't you download anything?

Way to go, Quadruple Post..

Now go for a Quintuple Post, and for kicks, lets try it on MSN Explorer..

He was asked what web browser he was using and he said MSN. Doesn't get any clearer than that.

If I had an answer for him other than to reformat then I would say so.

Pop-Ups can be stopped by the Pop-up Blocker option. Enable it in the IE.

And also make sure that Firewall option is enabled, if you are using Windows XP.
