It would be wrong, IMO, to say "the word nig*er should be banned before the word cracker" they both affect large groups of people and should be banned. Putting the word nig*er in front of cracker in terms of how bad it is is like saying the feelings of black people are worth more then that of whites. Do you disagree with what I am saying?
I'm going to request that you please read the last post of page 10 for a response regarding feelings. I'm not saying black people's feelings are more important, but the way history worked out, black people are generally going to be much more sensitive to "n1gger" than a white person to "cracker."
I disagree with what you said about pain. The point I was trying to make had nothing to do with succumbing to it. It was which one hurts more. Racism = Racism in definition but actually application is far more complicated than x=x. This is not simple algebra.
I do see what you are saying and do not disagree with it completely, but it's just more complicated than that. I'm not justifying one over the other. I'm speaking in very general terms about two races of people. It's not universality, it's probability.
I hope you understand my emphasis when I say, "I AM NOT SAYING ONE MORE JUSTIFIABLE THAN THE OTHER." Both are equally wrong, but the message is more hurtful often times. I can't think of any white person who would get mad at the word "cracker." (Although admittedly every white person I know is either college educated, or on the way)
Edit: Oh and banning words is just stupid. It's a mentality. Banning words does nothing
