You can't rule out retcons like they don't matter, because it happens. Bendis made a retcon and that's how it is now. Hulk didn't go without killing innocents.
It's always been a fact that the bannerless Hulk killed people on accident. I'm pretty sure Bendis retconned the both of them into having killed innocent people.
On the other side, isn't it funny how no one has ever given Wolverine any beef for killing many, many, many people? He killed the Governor even.

I never claimed that they didn't deserve it and I did in fact know that he was mind controlled by the remnants of the weapon x program when doing so, joined up with beast, ran into shiver man and got captured, when Brent Jackson finally betrayed Shield.
You automatically assume that you know more than everyone simply because they don't go out of their way to point unnecessary details. Wolverine's berserker rage doesn't excuse him at all by the way, The Director is an example of how the past will come back and haunt him.
