Hopefully Gillen rubs off on Fraction during this story arc, and at least one title will be great so I'll pick up this event.

Hopefully Surtur gets some good showings

I'm thinking the "doom" reference is that of the sound made as Surtur works on the Twilight Sword, an homage to the Simonson Era Surtur War.

But it could always mean the good doctor, too. He was busy dissecting Loki clones last we saw him as far as his involvement in Asgardian affairs.

It would be awesome if it was but the fact that "Doom" is capitalized makes me think it's the doctor.

Either way, it sounds awesome. And Fraction won't be able to completely phuck it all up, either.

At the end of the first JiM arc we saw Surter smithing something and the last words were "his hammer rises. It sings it's song anew" and then a black panel that just said "Doom", so it's pretty much certainly a reference to Simonson...

Thor & Silver Surfer have been doing the smackdown dance for a couple of years now, haven't they?

Let me guess, the fight will be several panels showing thor getting hit by surfers board while surfer is hit by thors hammer and maybe if we are lucky we will get a headbut in there somewhere.

Wow just finished reading the new Mighty Thor.

It's something else for sure, the ending is just stupid.

Is this supposed to be Fraction's zany "Frog of Thunder" style arc? Because it's not so absurd it's awesome. It's just phucking stupid.
