I'll be buying it regardless since it ties into Journey Into Mystery this upcoming crossover.

Perhaps this will the be the turn around Thor needs to get back on track.

Actually looks like it has promise

Sounds exactly like Desak in premise. But if he can handle juggling the mystic/ancient Norse feel of Thor alongside the cosmic undertones for Thor (Imo, the best Thor writers were able to blend magic and cosmic themes as Thor's the best character in Marvel to breach both worlds) it sounds decent enough.

Maybe Aaron is retouching on Jurgen's arc, though, which would be nice to see.

I hope the interior art is better than the cover art. Thor looks a little downsie there. ermm

haha I was just about to comment on how terrible that cover looks. Also not sure why they changed his attire, his last one was slick, but I suppose it's harder to draw for a monthly series.

Joe Q tried to push the sleeveless Thor, too, with his variants. Other artists kept putting black leather gloves on him, too.

Honestly, Coipel's redesign is the best attire for Thor. Don't see why they can't just keep it like that. If people can regularly draw Iron Man, whom most artists in the industry have agreed is a pain in the ass to draw due to all the details on his armors, they can handle Thor.

Will be jumping on board for this relaunch, had to drop Fractions run, his Thor is just a bit too barbaric for my liking and his handling of the Thor mythos just hasn't been anywhere near the level of Jurgens or JMS.

A "back to roots" sort of approach could be good for the book imo.

I like the premise but the cover makes me afraid that they are still going to go with a barbaric Fraction-like Thor.
