Seen the film twice. Noticed alot of things the second time around. Still no Starscream takin' shots at Megatron though...
I rewatched it, he doesnt shoot Megatron. After he takes out a few jets, theres 3 left, they keep flying forward to Megatron, and Starscream flies to the left and disappears. When the jets attack Megatron, only 3 of them are there. Either Starscream attacks him and we cant see him, or he's gone off somewhere.

Exactly. People's fanboyish imaginations running away and distorting the true facts. I saw the same thing. Three jets are left and Starscream took off some other direction.
Can't know for sure, but it's obvious that the G1 Starscream and the film adaptation of Starscream are completely different. At least in the first TF flick. Not sure if he'll go back to his traitorious roots in any upcoming sequels, but he was an entirely different Starscream
Spoiler:
that was watching Megatron chase down Sam from afar. Took out some jets, and couldn't get rid of the remaining three. He even to a swipe at one of them with his hand and missed. He was sluggish and out of practice. He couldn't have possibly taken a shot at Megatron.
I went to see the film last night and was not disappointed.
I give it a 8.5 out of 10.
It's faults were simple, too much focus on humour and recycling of jokes and stereotypes, (IE : The Black guys is fat and yells at his grandmother...) , a little too much focus on Frenzy who was (for the 'second' half of the film) pretty damn annoying with his Ewok esq jabbering. I preferred it at the beginning wherein Blackout and Scorpinok attacked Quirac, simply because of the sheer realism it displayed. Especially the errie silence that Blackout gave off (contrasted nicely with Scorpinoks screeches) .
However, when the TF's began talking it was...a little cheezy "(Are you Ladiesman217.... we are the autobots" ect) but after about fifteen minutes of it the dialogue eases out back to normal again (Save for Primes three stooges act in Sams Garden...)
The fights were pretty brutal , two particular favorites are Megatrons attack upon Jazz ("You wanna piece of me , you wanna a piece of me . No , two pieces !) and Optimuses cold and precise kill on Bonecrusher .
Some people whine about how the Human cast was too large, but personally I think that it was just right, you have to think of it as each area having it's own 'cast' , with the sum of all people rarely meeting.
Overall a superb film , cant wait for the sequel.

Well just goes to show.
One man's whine is another man's legitimate criticism.
Definitely a contentious point and one that we definitely have differring opinions on. 🙂
It wasn't so much the cast size, just the screentime and arguably unneccessary 2nd hand plots that the cast had. Thats what shat in my cornflakes... 😖hifty:
