The frame work has been laid with the mini's but the difference is the appeal. In annihilation I wanted to know what happened to Nova, SS, and Drax, I really don't care what happens to Quasar, Wraith, and I'm disinterested in Nova currently. Thats already a bad sign.

Oh I agree.

Star Lord = Great.
Nova = Sure, less so than last time, but still interested.
Quasar = Not in the slightest, there wasn't a chance of me picking up this book when this lesbian impostor is running around calling herself Quasar.
Wraith = Picked it up, wasn't very interesting though.

I'm hoping the main book raises the bar though.

I think some people just don't like Yat.

Feeling like a pimp, Val? Get that dirt off your shoulder.

The only thing I didn't like in the SMP solo is that he was getting creamed and as soon as the sun came up he got up in a second and he is like "ZOMG!! I'm back at full power now I'm gonna beat up Ion."
That was kinda lame Imo....

Precrisis Kryptonian.

Though I thought the scene where his hand was kinda contorted, and, suddenly, bathed in light and reaching upwards was really cool....

I think this is the best ... event ... put out in.... well, a really really long time.

Fixed.

This 'smaller' event is a hell of a lot better than most of the big events in both universes. Civil War? World War Hulk? Superemo Prime's first crisis?

Superman's fisticuffs > ALL. ✅

He was straight up choked-out and purely OWNED in the Henshaw special. How the hell did he manage to get out of that?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyways;

As far as other stories that are of similar quality, I'm loving The Immortal Iron Fist, the Initiative, and Captain America - but even if you consider those comparable in level of storytelling, they are solo titles, more or less. They aren't events, and if we've learned anything it's that events are a bitch to pull off.

Civil War? Meh.
World War Hulk? Meh.
The Latest Skrull invasion? Probably meh.

Infinite Crisis? Meh.
World War III? Slightly less meh, but only for the face ripping.
Final Crisis? Probably meh.

I actually have really high hopes for final crisis. I mean, you generally can't go wrong with Morrison, and you get a sense that DC is building up to something really, really epic.

I mean when he said "It'll start with Anthro the first boy and go all the way down to Kamandi the last boy" I got pretty pysched. I have a feeling all the huge, mythical, iconic elements that make the DCU a cool place are going to be worked in.

And where the Green Lanterns and the New Gods are going seems interesting.

Well, try not to get your hopes up.

Everyone got their hopes up for the last umpteen events, and we've pretty much been let down time and time again. 😬.

Does anyone wonder why Sinestro didn't offer BA a spot back when he went nuts. This would have been perfect for him.

What the...

You're comparing Civil War to IC? I think we all agree that Marvel's latest crossovers have been crap compared the Infinite Crisis. You know Civil War right? All out war, roughly two guys die and that's about it.

I agree with that list, though Wraith is definitely worth reading for Super Skrull and hot robotchickness, Quasar has been complete and utter crap.

Infinite Crisis wasn't bad - but I still found it to be, largely, a let down. And that's all I was pointing out. All the big events/crossovers have been hyped up to ridiculous levels, and then....didn't live up to it.

Jade sacrificed herself for Kyle. That would pretty horrible if it transferred over to Yat.

Makes more sense that the Ion power is wholly seperate.

Someone in Herochat mentioned it, but if you look at the scan again notice that the green energy looks flame-like. Only time I have seen that is when Alan uses his powers ermm

It's pretty much been all of the small-scale events that have been hit out of the park.

Annihilation (the first one), Planet Hulk (say what you want about WWH, but Planet Hulk was awesome) and Sinestro Corps.

Let''s not even speak about the atrocity that was Amazons Attack.

I think its because there aren't too many routes to go in a big crossover. Either it ends in a big brawl with the villians eventual loss or it suddeny ends based on a weapon or new found info ala Civil War or House of M.

To each their own. I liked planet hulk, but I dunno if I'd compare it to Sinestro Corps or Annihilation.

Artist interpretation? ermm.

I still gotta agree with everyone that said it'd be beyond ****ed up if Jade's sacrifice transferred to Yat somehow.

Now that I think of it, I don't think the Starheart has much to do with Ion having/not having a GL ring, or else Jade shouldn't have needed one.

She didn't have any.

I'll be honest.

I sympofise with Prime.

He has a reason to be pissed. Uberley.

I thought I read a comic where she WAS using one -- I could very well be wrong... I often am.

Anyways - fingers crossed that the green flames are just supposed to emphasize the fact that Yat is literally bursting with Oan power (the way Guy's ring sparks CUZ O D WILLPOWAH!) - not the starheart.

She lost her Starheart powers at one point so Kyle gave her a power ring to make up for it. When he reactivated her powers, she didn't need the ring.
