I really wish Yat was written to be a little... I dunno, less of an unappealing character? I mean, if he's supposed to go on to be the greatest green lantern that EVER LIVED, I'd kind of like him to be someone I enjoy reading.

at least until, three years from now, we get a storyline where the earth based green lanterns need to stop him after he goes crazy.

Most people love the Yat

Prime wants to make the Anti-Monitor his *****. Wonder how that's going to work out.

I was actually hoping that would happen

I'm not one of them really. I really don't know what everybody sees in him.

I'd like him if he had... ya' know.... any salient character idiosyncrasies, character development, backstory... well, actually, anything at all that would make me like him.

So far he's just "the invincible green lantern," or hey! "lets put a green lantern ring on Mon-El!"

I mean, I know that the sainted Alan Moore's prophecy tells us he's going to be the greatest Green Lantern, and I can tell DC is building him that way, what with his destruction of Ranx and the new Ion upgrade, but the character is a complete and utter blank. Okay, he's really really powerful, he's loyal to the Green Lantern cause, and he's the probably the first person I've ever, ever seen respect Guy Gardner (which is the only thing he's done so far that's given him a check in my book... because, hey, who doesn't love them some Guy?).

I mean, he just gives off that vibe of the one kid from high school who always showed up to class ten minutes early, crew cut, and answered every question in a perfect but unimaginative answer. We all know that dude. Wasn't very interesting, was he?

That's the vibe Sodom Yat gives off to me.

Unless he dies destroying the Anti-Monitor, I'm expecting DC to flesh him out a bit, and that sounds good to me. But so far I haven't seen anything out of him that makes me like his character all that much.

Yat reminds me of Guy in that last scan with his huge smirk

Indeed he does.

Yat as Ion still uses the ring. I'm guessing Kyle didn't need one because of the Starheart. If that's the case, he should still have it (the Starheart).

he hasn't really had time to take the ring off yet though. or maybe he just thinks it looks cool

Yat taking 2 blasts from AM impressed me quite a bit -- It actually seemed to surprise AM himself.

I noticed that too - found it quite strange.

When Kyle received the Ion power (both times), his ring just disappeared.

I find this whole arch going down hill, it started strong and i was all hyped up, but with the latest comics that came out, i find myself distracted and not really caring anymore, from the new book of OA to the rings changing, this sodam vat is very unlikable..Kyle and hal seperating from parallax..very anti climatic, and i am supposed to be anticipating a fight between Ion and SBP...yeah right

i am only one with an opinon, but i find myself wishing the story would go a different way, eh i will still support it money wise as i am a fan for 30 years or more for GL's but it is dissapointing me

The Guardians' still referred to the Ion power as "unstoppable" -- So I think it would be odd if Yat didn't receive that part of the power [the Starheart], but then again, Jade didn't give it to Yat either.

srug

Jade sacrificed herself for Kyle. That would pretty horrible if it transferred over to Yat.

Makes more sense that the Ion power is wholly seperate.

So, is the majority of people disappointed by now? I'm still all revved up - I'm loving this entire event.

Found it kinda odd that Superman managed to almost kill henshaw somehow...

But, I definitely don't think anything's gone downhill....to me, this is one of the (very few) events that has managed to maintain its momentum.

I think some people just don't like Yat.

The only thing I didn't like in the SMP solo is that he was getting creamed and as soon as the sun came up he got up in a second and he is like "ZOMG!! I'm back at full power now I'm gonna beat up Ion."
That was kinda lame Imo....

As much as I'm not warming up to Sodom Yat, I think this is the best "smaller" big event DC has put out in.... well, a really really long time. It's been really fun, and unlike say... Civil War, it didn't slow down. The pacing is really good... we get the big threat, the attack on Qward, the Battle of Mogo, the announcement of the attack on Earth, the big fight between GLs and Sinestros, a big fight between Earth's heroes and Superboy (man, excuse me) Prime, and next issue we get the big fight between SBP and Sodom Yat (which I'm kinda expecting will make me like Yat more. I think he just needs more time in the limelight before I like him).

It's a great event. I've been liking WWH, but this is a lot better.

what I also really like is that Earth's heroes are there, and doing things, but aren't the focus of what's going on at all. A member of the Corps is going to take on Superboy, not the tryple Kryptonian team who couldn't bring him down. I like that. The book is well paced, lots a action, good character moments, snappy fight scenes and tough-guy dialouge... what's not to like?

Can you blame them? Yat = Gary Stu galore.

🤨

You realize that so far this has been one of the best events DC has produced, right? srsly

IMO, it blows anything currently being published by Marvel completely out of the water.
