I made the same mistake. They look pretty similar.

All except the Black Lanterns.

Triangles a symbol/logo for the Death....hmm

You don't think the difference between "able to do anything the wielder imagines," and "able to create any construct the wielder imagines" is significant?

Only if they were actually shown to be limited to constructs, which hasn't been the case.

John is just too powerful for the ring...

It's like giving Lucifer the ring. His will is too high, and the ring can't keep up...

😖hifty:

True...

But it would seem that this:

Is no longer the case, [as far as power rings are concerned].

Didn't Kyle create Oblivion with it and it told him that he could do absolutely ANYTHING with the ring?

Maybe but if the power ring is exhausted by attempting to create a solar system, that's not much of a power down. You're still talking about an elite power here.

Comparing this to the Dr. Strange situation, who got such a power down that he can't even teleport, is a little off base.

However, I still think you guys are over analysing it. Right now it's just one feat that contradicts every other GL feat ever. That and a bio but since when have we ever cared about bios?

I am by no means calling the rings weak.

I just had never heard of a ring bearer's willpower being > what the ring itself can handle..

It makes no sense to me. srug

It read like a plot point to me. I'm positive it's going to be brought up later and explained.

I sure hope so. ermmnone

He wasn't creating a solar system - just some really huge constructs. There's a mite of difference between the two.

As do I.

That's what he was trying to do. Key word: trying. The panel itself said he was thinking of every single detail of the Xanashi star system. It was extremely impressive.

I'm siding with you. bangin

It's not like there a tons of times where GLs have made actual planets using the ring.

Kyle did but he went the cheap and easy route. ermmnone

Elaborate, vile fiend!

But there are plenty of times they've made actual objects/matter with the ring. All I was pointing out is that there is a difference between making a planet, and a green, oan, construct of a planet. A difference between making a sword, and a green, oan construct of one.

He took a previously destroyed planet and remade it completely.

Meh. The functional difference is minimal and writers hardly listen to handbooks anyway.
