That artwork is atrocious.....look at Thor's face.

Much of the attempted perspective is equally atrocious.

There are very few people who are taking issue with Yu's art.

Its not bad( compared to his new avengers stuff) but its not event worthy.

That's what people said about John Romita Jr. and Oliver Coipel. Yet, after it was all said and done, nobody really took issue with it. And I'd rather have JrJr, Coipel or Yu over artists like Hitch and Millar who take damned forever to draw their books or over artists like Phil Jiminez who requires four other artists to fill in gaps because he can't make deadlines.

Say what you will about the art. It's not mind blowing, but it's damn good and it's on time. I appreciate that about Bendis. Aside from Cho, his recent picks of artists have proven to be dependable and punctual. Millar's last run on Wolverine was that much better because he used John Romita Jr also. His Fantastic Four run is good because Hitch is finally delivering on-time. I'll reserve judgment on his current Wolverine run after I see six issues on time.

I like the way it looks. I'm just pointing out that some of the perspective is off.

i have to take issue with that my kind sir....JrJr's art has never been good at any time in any place....square jawed rectangular eye and mouthed characters with spina bifida(sp) and no irises and pupils does not do it for me🙁

I loves me some Maximus.

John Romita Jr is probably one of the last of the classic artists from Marvel's House of Ideas. I know newer and younger readers don't like it. But trust me, he knows how to tell a story and draw fights. It's visceral and infused with atmosphere. Even better, he never draws his heroes in poses. When he does, they look awkward. Which is why his covers aren't all that great. But in terms of interior art, that's a damn plus. They always have to be doing something. If you don't like it, that's your choice. But if you prefer hacks like Ed Benes...

... well, no comment.

Benes is really quite good, IMO. He manages to fit a good amount of detail into drawing without it becoming distracting. JJr's work looks much flatter.

I don't think it is. I read the issue two days ago and in the last few pages, there was an awesome panel of Thor's face.

I love his art but some of his female characters look the same.

I dont think it is either. Is not great but is not horrible either. Hes among my top 10.

Benes is quite awesome actually...the only probem i got with him is the fact that his characters are too big...meaning that they are too close up like the reader has on a zoom lense...and it is true about his females.....and any of his built "guy" characters...eg in JLA 23 it seemed like Supes, batman, flash and even amazo were all the same guy wearing different costumes....but to haul off and call him a hack is way to hasty

Inhumans make the Super Skrull look like pussies...

I see Karnak dropping bitches left and right....even Medusa is taking people down.

How many Inhuman Books are out now?

What are you talking about? Brand New Day is in continuity. Are you disputing this?

How did I know you guys would like Ed Benes' artwork? I must be a mind reader. Trust me, the guy's alright, but he's all about hero poses and T&A. Joe Madureira was too, but at least he has his own style. Ivan Reis is much, much, much better than Ed Benes. And artists like Ethan Van Sciver absolutely sh1t on Ed Benes.

I aint gonna lie, I dont care when Benes draws male characters. T&A is his forte which is why he was perfect on Birds of Prey.

I really like Joe Mad's anime style. U hardly saw anime in comics when he started which was fresh. Now u see it all the time but he still stands out.

Guys like JrJr and Mark Bagley havent really evolved. I still like JrJrs art and would pick him over a lot of artists but I grew out of Bagleys art which is why I cant get in to Trinity (let the bashing begin).

The first time I read GL:Rebirth, the first thing that stood out was, Who is this artist. His was incredibly. I was mostly surprised because DC sucked in the artist department. Most of their recent good talent came from Marvel. This guy came out of nowhere (at least to me) and now I think hes one of the best.

Yep. Van Sciver is easily one of the best. I love his art.
