Elaborate, please.
I don't think any religious person dedicated to the traditional faiths would ever argue that. Obvious stuff is the funniest stuff, eh.
Quantity over quality. What's there to elaborate? Faster posts, less thought behind them, less words but more frequency between them. More rapid progression of plot, less depth, less background, less consideration.
Quantity.

And here we go, we are preached "The word of God" as if it really spoke to them. Think about it.
More after this.

Better yet, quantity, being more than quality, would mean that posting the most stuff would be most essential over other RP aspects.
Most are idiots. That's just how the world is.
I have thought about it a lot, and my comment was directed towards those with the capacity to think for themselves and are blessed with intelligence and still choose God.
Also, there's no way of saying that the word of God wasn't spoken to them.
You're basing your conclusion of my post on the idea of quality being a static definition, one without alternative meanings. To me, quality is the thought put behind a post.
I have been part of hundreds of "chat RPs" and it is my experience (Much like you have yours) that IM roleplaying is quantity over quality. The care behind words and posts, the progression of a character. People are sloppy, lazy, rapid when it comes to IM. They spell poorly, they rush a post and the list goes on. Why? Because it's IM. It's supposed to be fast.
It's fast, fast, fast. It's eventful, it's active, it's exciting. But it's also with little detail, with little depth. It moves forward, much faster than many other and it often involve an increased amount of events. That's quality to some, but not to me.
My statement stands: Quantity over quality. This because it's my experience, my opinion and my knowledge that has lead me to this conclusion.
I don't know what you've been through, and quite honestly, it doesn't touch my perspective. I have been in enough "instant" roleplays to hold onto the thought that IM is quantity over quality.

Sorry. 😬
The Bible was supposedly written by mortal hands. On Earth. The Jewish and the Christian people both seem to think this, and that the writing of the Bible was without direct involvement of divinity.
The ten commandments however, but that's a topic for another time.
It makes sense if you don't overthink it.
Reduction of time between posts.
Increased number of posts.
Higher amount of events.
More rapid character progression.
Reduction of details equal increase of plot progress.
It's all quantity.
IM is fast. Forum isn't. Forum can be, though, as can IM not be. There are exceptions, but the basic idea is still the same.
o.o I didn't mean for my whole "What kind of RP" thing to go this far, I was just saying that I like both Forum RP's and IM RP's. To me, it is not about Quantity over Quality; in fact, when I do an IM RP I do type less, but I use more detail for that one specific thing. I would make a paragraph to explain one sentence but the difference is that with Forum's you refresh, you load, you look at a page and turn it. With an IM, it's for those who want more of a faster understanding. A Forum RP states a series of things that happen, you could have the first 5 minutes of a fight in it. While in IM RP's, you specify down to the specific time movement, one movement per message generally. So all in all its the same thing, but with faster replies. But that's just how I see it.

what RP comes down to, no matter if its IM or forum, is the effort the people you'e playing with pu into it. sounds like marie's played with alot of crappy IM based rp'ers who didnt know how to add depth to their characters interactions. its the same with forum, too. ive seen quite a few rp'ers on this site who cant write a discription to save their lives, or dont even bother to fix their grammer when posting.
all in all wat it comes down to, is that those guys like to argue with each-other. O_o. no-one's really right.
but if you get good people to rp with, that take the time to elaborate on their characters and go into the extra effort, you can get depth and story via IM that matches and can surpass forum rp. and the reverse is true with forum/IM.

"Go this far", you say that as if there's harm in talking about a topic.

I sure would like to not see it with you 😎
Well I'm active in 3 RP's, 5 if Xan starts up the two new ones, 6 if my Halo RP gets passed lol. But it looks like the Rebellion is slowly dying out T.T which is sad because I was just released. I can't post another reply in that one because I was the last to post and I need Lt. to reply to that one specifically.

Other things than not watching movies all night? I suppose we could watch them, if that's what you want shrug
