to be honest.. most of time.. i am bored as all hell. theres a few things that keep me entertained. rp is one of them. but the older i get, the more rp changes. people whine more. people take it too seriously. people dont do it right. dont care about their own chars. dont care about creating interesting interactions.
they seem to either create this storyline thats stuck on a railroad, or else they get lost.. in all honesty, the greatest thing i hope for in any rp is for my char to die in some sort of awesome and important way that affects everything.. or to create a situation where all characters in the rp are effected. for good or bad. i like the little twists. the little characters driven developements.
i dont like playing human or humanoid characters. its not as fun playing as something similar to yourself. its more interesting to be something beyond normal. sure, you can give yourself powers or skills, but you might as well watch heroes, or a spy flick..
another thing that i do to fix boredom is videogames... ive gone through the halos... gotten to general grade 4 in reach.. which isnt that high, but ive unlocked pretty much everything i want. i get bored playing it by myself, and none of my friends play it anymore.. so i play black ops... im goig through the prestiges.. which is easy as all hell. but it irritates me with the constant lag and ******* players that camp and retarded match making that teams you up with retarded little kids who cant play the game. so i have a good k/d ratio, and a piss poor win/loss ratio.
i miss having a comp of my own.. i would be all over starcraft, diablo 2 and command and conquer.. needless to say... ive been bored alot lately.. waiting until i see an rp or something here that interests me.. hero high had potential, but NOTHING HAPPENS... the halo thing woulda been fun to go crazy with a spartan and having it die in a badass way.. but no-one posted...
im used to rp's being games of chess with clans. the other rp'ers being my pawns and knights. keeping my queen protected from assassins and seduction.. battleing my enemies with strategy moreso than might. (even though i relished the joy of crushing them and forcing them into slavery through claws and blood)
but lately i just see a bunch of people throwing themselves at their foes like rams butting heads.. and while the crack of bone against bone is fun to hear, it just doesnt do it for me much anymore... so im kind of hopeing for something random to happen to keep me amused.
maybe a zombie apocalypse where i can rp as a special infected zombie... that can think? or something.. i dont know.. im just bored. and the rp's here seem stale.. thinkin about just quitting rp in general... what do you guys think?

I think he's innuendoing that this isn't a role playing thread. It's something of a refuge from role playing. Somewhere to chat with the members without it having to be relevant to the role play in which you take part 😄 Just a hunch.
I personally feel that your entry was a little invalidating towards Matthias. Brushing something of with the line that it's so dramatic can seem neglecting or even disrespectful. Parents do the same mistake with their children when they raise them 😛 Invalidating is so common 🙁

If I've pieced your post together properly, what you're saying is that you feel no challenge in the role plays here. There's too little intellectual interaction between characters. Now I haven't been part of any role play yet, so I can't say much about it. I can however say that I've noticed this as well as that it's one of the reasons that's kept me out of role playing. That and because it seem so violence oriented 😛
I myself feel that I see enough violence oriented stuff on the TV, in video-games and in books. That's another of the reasons why I haven't jumped into it. Hero High doesn't seem at all like a school, which was a disappointment as well 😑 I can't at all relate or get a school atmosphere out of reading the posts.
Another reason I've feared to join a role play is the love at first sight tendency. People seem to fall in love for no deeper reason than that they either spend a lot of time together or that other person is there. I sometimes actually suspect that people fall in love because they are male and female, or female and female 😛 I've yet to see any man with man relationship.
Now I'd be delighted to join you in a new role play if you want to make something intellectual. I wouldn't at all mind being part of something like that you described in your third from last paragraph. I could even help you brainstorm if you'd like. I've written some stories in my days 🙂
Well that little rp thing we did was just for the sake of being random so we didn't really need a break down of something so small. Also I knew what what blk ment I just replied for the sake of replying, like how you wanted to reply to a post that didn't concern you. If you want a non-violent rp then Information Breakers, there will be pretty much no violence focusing more of spies, hackers, and other things. I really hope you find a rp that you can jump into, maybe you and Super Marie should make one. 🙂
I apologize for involving myself in a matter that didn't at all concern me. I never intended for my input to appear invasive. Just helpful in an illuminating manner, but I've been wrong before. I don't want to start anything, so I'll leave it at that.
I looked into The Information Brokers, but it didn't at all appeal. I'm more into fantasy than technology. I am also skeptic towards the longevity, no offense Bladewind or starryknight. In a technological role play, in a violence dominated world with pacifistic characters, I just can't see the plot sustaining attraction 😮
Also, Super Marie has been awfully occupied lately with all kinds of things. Wouldn't drag her into something like that. Not that I think she'd be interested. She has other role plays that she rather deal with 🙂

and yeah.. its just that i get bored.. that other rp kept me entertained.. it was in real time, and had alot more character interactions. i think, by the end of it.. i had lost my queen.. (so did my enemy) but by then, i was already a grandfather of the domain, and my daughter was the new queen.. her children, the new army, and the other force was simply being hunted down into extermination. after that, i left. it was no longer amusing, and i had nothing left to do..
I'd love to take part of something with you. The days that I don't study I can get awfully bored as well 😛 It's been long since I worked with creative writing so it'd be fun to get a little into it again. I can't say I've done much role playing but it's not really that different from story writing 😄
its just a matter of (on here at least) finding a storyline to keep people coming back to it.. im used to creating interesting characters in a world setting, and letting plots develope.. i like the freedom of it more... but.. present an idea.. maybe i can add to it.. i used to write stories, too.. a long time ago...
A group of religious, racial minorities escaping the judgmental hammer of righteousness swung by the human provinces? 😛 Fantasy setting. Bestial or some other type of non-humans being the race and the religion being the primary reason for being hunted. A society of underdogs frowned upon by the world 🙂 That's from the top of my head.
