I read a rather interesting newspaper article the other week and thought I should make an effort and write a little about it here. The title of the article was "Anonomity - a source to internet hate" and the woman writing it was critisizing the turn of things online, and the changes that the internet phenomenon is experiencing.
So here is my vista of the matter: The woman listed multiple examples of internet hate, both examples directed to personal opinions as well as comments about the Utöya event. She quoted a pshychologist that anonomity is a form of unidentifying, which elevant the human mind into a sense of confidence, safety and arrogance.
That was what she wrote. Here is my take. Have you ever thought about just how much of what you write on the internet you would never say in real life? Allow me a few examples. A time ago on this forum, I was being casually abused verbally because of a simple expression of sexuality and no one truly stepped in to defend. Now, I could make more examples regarding myself, but that would turn this into a victim post, and I do not want that. So lets look at a few other examples. JacopeX, he is a favorite topic around here. He was being a total *****, despite being vouched for to in truth be a really sweet guy. He talked down on another class of role players, who desired a literate minimum requirement for participation. This he spoke of with vast venom and arrogance, despite being a good guy. Anonomity. But now this post is taking a turn that I did not desire for it to do, so I will regress to the previous topic.
The fact that what we write have no true consequences, makes us act in ways that we normally never do. Now, I have had this discussion here before, but the truth of it all is that, is that people realize more and more what they can get away with and it takes less and less to drive a person into rudeness on the internet. Because they are not in any immediate harm or at risk of real consequence because of their behavior. I know I have abused this privilege of anonomity far too often and I can list at least a dozen on these forums that has done the same.
Now, this is not a form of lecture, or scolding, but rather, this is me, telling you, how things are. If you have not thought about this before, I suggest you remain in your seat and you do so. Think about how you behave on the internet. I am not saying that all of you, or even most of you, act differently on internet, though I am guessing with great certainty that you do (Not necessarily negatively different). Just sit down for a moment and think about how far this freedom through anonomity is bringing the world, and I also suggest you think a little about what you can do to affect it. Perhaps think twice before assuming you've interpreted someone correctly and taken offense, or think twice before not stepping into someones defense.
It takes very little effort to be rude on the internet. It takes a great deal of control to be selfless and heroic. Both because in truth, there are no true consequences. You can put your ass out when defending someone, and risk getting nothing out of it except enemies, which scare a lot of people. So here is my conclusion:
Do not be afraid to be selfless. Be kind, not cruel.

As far as someone who believes in requirements and standards of RPing "skill" go, the one who takes the cake here is you. I can even link everyone here to the discussions where I called out on your horrid elitism and sense of superiority over other RPers just because they did not possess the literature/standards that you would categorize as efficient in being "Good Rpers" while I believe that you only need to be able to progress a storyline without having to possess a certain unofficial skill in the literature portion of RPing. Sorry, but your preference is not everyone else's. Hence why I kept calling you out on it as to how being forced and limited to RP a certain way to receive any acknowledgement from other RPers just does not make RPing fun most of the time.
For every sentence I made, you replied with paragraphs with some sort of inability to accept some things being said. I think that is the problem with you. I'll leave the rest of this subject to the people to read Page 204 0f this thread.
This shows you trying to begin an argument with me from ONE sentence out of all other sentences from that entire post about my RP.
Yes, here is where it all started. I have been attacked by many people misinterpreting what I was saying like Keyter and some who just wanted to instigate like pointless children/trolls such as Etna. It only began to make me more and more impatient because this is not the first time I have encountered people like you. It is always the same elitist behavior that always gets me riled up but now I just don't care anymore nor do I carry the same amount of passion for RPing as I once did thanks to people like you who ruined it for everyone. I felt that I was the only one that was able to stand up against elitist such as yourself.
Also, I have contributed so much to this forum more than you can ever will accomplish from here until the day you get banned. I have created a great RP series and have helped other RPers out with recaps, gave them advise on RPings, and I am proud of it. But many people have forgotten that sadly. Just check my posts in the hero high RP discussion thread...I did my best to attract new comers to the RP so that they won't get lost and understand what is going on. Check page 60 of the HERO high Registration thread. Shalimar forgot all about my contributions and decided to just betray me. 🙁
I asked you, Marie, this before, and i'll ask again.....What have you done for this forum rather than instigate and pick arguments with people? What RPs have you joined for the last year or so? You're only here, in this thread, talk about others and just making people feel insecure and bad whenever they share their differing point by your superiority complex.
You talk about being careful with that what you say. Well I suggest you apply this to yourself and accept the fact that your elitist behavior will only get you shunned and ignored in the social world. I know this has nothing to do with your current post but it always bothered me when you said this before because I know you're just making lies up to further strengthen your point like always, especially against people who are minding their own business, but I would like to call you out on this. My advice to everyone: Be sure about what you are advising people to do without contradicting yourself at the same time. Because in the end, the real as shole will end up being you. Jacope what on earth are you talking about? I never turned my back on you. Are saying this because I had to give you a pm keeping the chain of command in check? We all know Hero High has a chain of command that is lead by MadMel,Myself,Big O,and Thunderfox dpending on who is leading the current RP that chain go in altered a bit. Or are you saying this because I knew I had to keep the RP alive. Don't mistaken me keeping the RP alive is me turning my back on. Mad was gone, O was having his own issuse and Thunders net was down which leaves me as the only leader of the game to keep it alive. In fact you already know I don't think your ban was just without the ban of the others who were involved in it. You ticked alot of people here off knowing how double standard KMC is. I just did not understand how anyone did not call that person out for that. Especially when it is very relevant to me and I actually worked hard and put time into helping you all. It really discourages me entirely, hence why I quit RPing for a long time. I know they are just words, but it made me realize that once I was gone, there was real appreciation for what I have done and it all made it seem pointless to me to even try to make RPing much more fun that it was and try to help contribute for people to stay.
I don't care if people hate me, point is that words can sometimes affect me and make me become over analytical upon some things that only causes me to adjust negatively.

It has never been my intention to do you harm, but I see that I have left a mark. So I am sorry and I would like it if you could give my various future posts a chance. This really shouldn't have been said to begin with. Posting your view on something is fine, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But seriously Marie 🙁 I thought that we were all told to stop all this discussion of bitter feelings between you two. We were told that stuff like that wasn't right since 3rd Grade and I know that you are very smart so I thought you'd be above something like that.

Jacope, really? Look, you know I'm your friend. Whenever I can actually see you online I always try and talk to you. I've defended you when people started trash talking you before but you need to stop doing this "come back" thing because otherwise people are going to lose respect for you. You know Marie wants to talk crap about you, hell everyone on KMC knows that Marie will talk. There is not one person on here who has seen her in action who thinks she's always innocent! But we can't keep up this feud, it's stupid and it solves nothing. It's consecutive airstrikes from a Rebel Unit on the Empire! (Rebels being Jacope, Empire being Marie) LMAO!
Take that as you will, I just think that we all need to stop being aggressive with each other. If I had my way I'd say let's just clear the record and start over.
