Eh? I think the ancient sith are pretty underrated.
Man, this place has been in the dumps recently - I can smell the scent of garbage even way over at EoD. 😛 It seems a bunch of noobs with naked old ladies for their sigs have overrun this place. This subsection is going to hell, and there is likely no longer any chance of turning back.
On a brighter note, the sequel to PoD is coming out, so that's one thing in SW - by one thing I mean aside from the plethora of SW garbage consisting of male leads undergoing droppage of the testes 10 years later than they should - thats got me stoked.

I recall a time when they were grossly overrated, though. Personally, I find my assessment of them to be the proper one.

#1. Since the ancient sith were the creaters of 99% of the techniques used, I fail to see how they have shown nothing compared to the newer sith, other than Palpatine, who is really the only case you can make in terms of force abilities.
#2. How is luke overpowered? Being the grandson of the force tends to give you favorable abilities. There are so many things wrong with LOTF, Luke's power isn't one of them. It's giving him uber power, then comparing Jacen to him.

When you can wipe out an entire army without breaking a sweat, or cloak an entire planet without breaking a sweat or be 'severly weakened' yet are able to fight to your max, I'd say that is alittle overpowered wouldn't you say or somehow manage to save the day all the time? People in fanfiction call it 'Mary Sue', which is certainly what Luke has become now, unfortunately. You do have a point, but there's always a place where you have crossed a line, and I and many others believe the authors have crossed it. Luke's not Goku or whatever the hell that anime crap is, so why are they making it out like he is? This is why I and many others stick to Clone Wars and Old Republic novels, since the Post-ROTJ novels have gone to crap since DE 1.

I don't think that these were amazingly powerful Sith Lords with exception to Tulak, who is noted for his excellent dueling abilities. The Ancient Sith were however master of Alchemy.
Freedon Nadd who came after the Marka Ragnos, has actually surpassed these in terms of power and feats.
