There is nothing wrong with Uncommon if that's how she chooses to do it.
Personally, I love the fact that she puts that much effort into what she wears, and takes the time to be. . .strange.
The Corpse Bride outfit that she designed for the Grammy's was stunning, but I think my personal favorite would be Malice in Wonderland.

It doesn't. I wasn't relating that to the music, but the band.
There's them as people, then there is their music. The two really are nothing alike, at least not from what they've shown the public.
To me, their music is good because when I listen to it, it sounds good, and I can relate to the lyrics.
When something goes wrong, I can find a song that relates to the situation, and it helps.
They put feeling and thought into their music, and they do it artfully, with an awesome product.
That's what makes their music good.
It's the Evanescence Thread, it can be about the band in itself just as much as it can be about the music. 😬

And that is why I feel safe calling them Alternative 😉
I feel like their music can go in so many different directions that they don't fit under just one genre.
There's the classical. Lacrymosa is a cover of one of Mozart's songs. It's out of Requiem.
There's opera. . .just look at the bridge in Weight of the World.
There's rock, Going Under seems pretty good there.
There's choir, Listen to the Rain (one of my favorite songs)
Simple piano ballads, My Immortal and Breathe No More. It just. . .doesn't fit under one category.
