Yes they want to win, but they still fight in character. That's why we don't think about thinks like Surfer covering his board with K-Nite and plowing into Supes neck with it at lightspeed to decapitate him, it's not in character for him to do so no matter HOW easy it would make for a win. DS LIKES to get in there and mix it up(like Thor), so given that mindset and his actually wanting to take his opponent down(from bloodlust), it's far more likely that he's going to end up in h2h combat with SBP then it is for him to pull a mind rape.

Darkseid also hates to lose. He's also not stupid.
We know that he'll use the OE because he does so consistently in fights. It's hardly unreasonable for him to think of using TP against an opponent who can over power him physically. He has nothing to prove in this fight, where as in his fights against Superman he has everything to prove due to his previous loses.
Has he ever actually said that he wants to fight h2h? There's a difference between saying that "honor demands head to head combat" and "I wanna crack some head"

That does not compute. According to forum rules, the opponents know about each other. you think DS is going to go charging in against SBP with fist alone? That doesn't make sense.

Big problem with this. Unlike Thor, Darkseid isn't an idiot. And he's shown that he is willing to throw honor to the wind if he absolutely has to. Or it suits his purposes. He 'likes' to be thought of as honorable, he isn't honorable per say.
So basically, you assume Darkseid will just fight H2H and possibly lose, when it's easily within his power to win if he uses even 1/5 of his powers. This is horseshit. And about SBP surviving the OE, NO ****ING WAY. The fact that Superman survives or deflects it at all is massive PIS. And that alone, is proof of the massive jobber aura Superman has.
If Darkseid starts losing H2H, even assuming he chooses to fight that way in the first place, what's stopping him from destroying the armor, OEing SBP, matter-transmuting him, mindraping him, blasting him with red-sunlight, teleporting him to the end of the universe, stealing his powers, etc, etc, etc?
The fact that it's even being argued that Darkseid can lose if he goes all out is an joke. dur

I think DS will win this because he has the powers and motivation to do it. He can take advantage of SBP's weak mind.
If he chooses to fight him in a purely physical manner he'll lose just like he's been doing with Superman.
IMO the outcome of this fight depends on nothing but how Darkseid approaches it.
