How to make the Games vs Forums a better place

More Cosmic Cube? It couldn't hurt.

No.

The "all characters must originate in a game" rule is, as I have said countless times, not going to change.

technically all characters orginated in somebody's brain

Okay, so what? That's got absolutely nothing to do with it.

That rule is not up for discussion. It stays.

Totally bulletproof.

Why did the moderators even bother making this thread? Mostly everyone in here keeps suggesting that we should have characters in here that aren't originated from games but the moderators keep saying no. This is a never ending argument. What's the point?

Whoops, sorry. Thought this thread was made by a moderator. Nevermind.

1) Because that's not the only suggestion that comes up

and

2) That rule originally came up as a member suggestion, and I implemented it after it was clear that it would make the forum much more organized. The overwhelming consensus has always been that it's a good rule.

And that's because it IS a good rule. If you want to have a free-for-all every-character-welcome Versus forum, I advise making your own off of KMC, to be honest.

There is nothing wrong with the rule that dictates only game originating characters are allowed. It makes sense, and keeps this place more organised.

I will however say that I think there should be some measly exceptions, the God of War deities being the ones I am thinking of.

I think closing Sephiroth vs Link will make everyone happier in general.

Perhaps one idea would be to pin a thread that function as video Vs. anything thread. A thread where we can discuss things like "Link Vs Optimus Prime" and stuff like that. Where we can really put one character that doesn't origin from video games against one that does.

That way, the neverending complaining about the removal of that rule could perhaps end, because people would have a place to throw in their Vs ideas.

It's just a suggestion. I thought I'd have it said since I think it really would be a way to make the Game Vs forum a better place, and still keep the "Must origin from a videogame" rule, only with that particular thread as the exception 🙂

If it makes you, or someone else misserable, simply stop posting in it. If people are mean to one another, or something of the sort, report.

The complaining really isn't that bad, especially compared to the chaos that this place used to be. Enacting the "must originate from a game" rule really cleaned Games VS. up.

It's a great rule, I'm not arguing that for a split second. I just thought it'd be interesting to have a (one single) thread that is an exception to it. That way, people could casually discuss various encounters that we aren't allowed to make threads about.
It probably would be smothered at first, but soon enough I'm confident it'd bring a greater sense of balance and dampen a shitload of curiosity that (among others) I suffer from 😛

Although, as said, it's merely a suggestion to something I believe could make the forum a better place (No, I'm not saying it isn't good already) ✅

if the character appears in a game but did not originate in a comic book, then he or she should be allowed.

😐

That's the rule, assuming you mean the character was first seen in a game.
