And I agree that 6 characters is plenty for gauntlets.
I do agree with anyone who brings up the topic of spicing this place up with a different variety of characters.
Hey since it seems to be so hard we could start still with some underused mainstream characters, like say...Alucard from Castlevania
And then start to use some unappreciated characters, or characters from relatively known games but not on the scale of "epic" like Link, anyone, ANYONE from FF VII or Master Chief.
Link fanboyism seems to be in full force now. Oh well, I think most characters on this forum go through this phase. It's only fanboyism if you can prove me wrong and I keep at it. 😛
I do think Link vs Kratos should be banned because I've argued it five hundred times now, and I'm getting tired of repeating myself.
Me: Kratos iz evilz!
Someone else: No hez nawt!
Me: Yez he iz!
Someone else2: Kraytose ripz Link in halfz.
Me: Kraytose duzn't have strength feetz dat gudz.
Someone else1: Kratoz is an antee heiro!
Me: Godamnit, /nerdrage on morality.
Someone else2: Kraytoze iz stronger! /talks about Atlas.
Me: Atlas was NOT trying to kill him D:< /rant about Link's various shows of strength.

Yeah, I think that's a pretty good representation of what happens.
Morridini gave a good reason for having GOTM threads:

Having game of the months threads throughout the year would make game of the year simpler, simply take the winners of every month and pit them against eachother. Would be a nice way for older games (released in January-March) to keep the feeling people had towards them when they were new.
They could also be used to maintain/encourage forum activity.
Is there a justification that doesn't consist of:
"Okay, no.
We're not going to do a "game of the month" thread every month.
Just save it until the end of the year."
for not having these threads?
Time and effort was put into the creation and maintenance of those threads and unless I see a valid justification I will be petitioning for a moderatorship removal on the grounds of meaningless abuse of moderating priviliges.
