I am going to shortly be holding a signature contest, so people should go check it out ๐
I hear that the only flaw in Point Lookout would be the ultra tough mutated rednecks. Reviewers say that one of the alien weapons you carry can kill an Enclave Commando in one shot but when you fire it at a half-naked gimp that's wearing piss stained trousers, it feels completely useless. No seriously, they actually said that which feels kinda humorous.

You, then, are rare. The main reason why I've been severely turned off by the usual form of online RPing - beyond the fact that for some unknown reason people feel the need to fluff up posts with pointless garbage - is that there is little desire to ever want to see a character mess up.And it's really not as much luck as you think it is. If you have a high score in something in particular, chances are you will do well with it. If you do not, chances are you won't. But just as in reality, sometimes things happen and it doesn't turn out as expected. And I vastly prefer that. And considering that most of the games I play - and like - are more action-based anyway, there's really no decent way of doing it without some sort of rules system.
And I'll state - even without dice, I merrily put my characters through hell. The character I play the most I created five and a half years ago, and I swear, were she real, I'd be dead in an instant for all the crap that happens ๐ On the other hand, every time I do something with her, a new facet of her personality - or some rationality for how she's turned out - pops up, which is a lot of fun.
Role Playing without character development, from both good and bad, is pathetic. While I do not actively try to get characters killed, I do enjoy trying to gauge their reactions to negative stimuli. ๐

Character development is awesome. But then again I'd be biased, considering what I'm RPing with my favorite character at the moment ๐ Already I've discovered a couple of rational reasons behind her seemingly irrational hatred of another character in the game.
And I certainly don't try to get my characters killed, but they tend to lean towards being risk-takers, and I'm not afraid to let them get into harsh situations. One of my characters is prone to taking especially risky and basically suicidal actions, and it ended up backfiring terribly at one point. I'm pretty lucky she survived that one.
